[Bukit Merah] Primary Schools

Zhangde should be removed from the list because historically it only had places for SCs in P2C.Dear Chief,
I am doing all my research to register my girl (PR) this year, in order to start P1 next year. We live in Mount Faber (Bukit Merah area). I have shortlisted the schools where I believe my daughter will have higher probability to be accepted in 2C phase..
a)Blanglah Rise Primary school
b)Gang Eng Seng Primary
c) Cantonment Primary
d)Zhangde Primary
On the other hand I have heard a lot of Queenstown Primary, however we are 5km away from this school. Do you think it is to risky to enrol my daughter here due to the distance?
Thanks a lot!
Since you stay in Mt Faber, you are likely to be within 1 km from CHIJ Kellock? If you don't mind a girls' school, you may like to consider this school. Based on past years' data, you have a higher chance with CHIJ Kellock than Zhangde.
The schools you mentioned are on par with each other. I would say they are not that much different. In terms of popularity, they are ranked as following (excluding CHIJ Kellock and Zhangde), in my personal opinion:
1. Gan Eng Seng
2. Queenstown
3. Cantonment
4. Blangah Rise
On another note, are you sure you are more than 5 km away from Queenstown Primary? -
zhangde and alexandra primary require balloting for SC living within 1km?

Alexandra - yes
Zhangde - it depends -
just wondering what the number of dragon babies born in 2012 are. i don’t think number is as high as year 2000. slightly off topic. a friend told me she went to buy laptop for her daughter on the 3rd day during the poly road show…there is no stock for the past 2 weeks. i don’t know if the other polytechnics recommend the same models, but those born during dragon year sure cause increase in demand and competition.

Hi al,
I’m a newbie here, having a dragon 2012 born son who will register for P1 at 2018. I’m researching school information in Bukit Merah and neighbourhood. I wonder where I can find a full list of detailed balloting results for each school / each phase (by distance and by SC/SPR/etc.). Thanks a lot. -

Hi Parents,
I would also like to know how’s feedback or PSLE results for Zhangde, Gan Eng Seng, Queenstown, Radin Mas, and Blangah Rise? Is there any links to share? Thanks. -
