Hi, can I check if HAST is meant for all who wants to apply DSA to ACSI. How about those applying thru sports or violin, need to take HAST?

It's applicable if applying for IP. So if taking express route don't need to take HAST. The HAST is administered test to sieve out ability/aptitude for IP. This is irrespective to domains for DSA. It's just for IP.

HAST applicable till 2018. HAST will be discontinued for 2019 intake.

I have friends whose kids receive invitation letter to tea with principals, some multiple schools (mainly sports). Do these kids have almost confirmed chance DSA-Ing to these schools?

Nope, I wouldn't even say it's better chances. It still hinges on the interview... my personal experience with DD DSA last year. The session is useful for seeking clarifications to the school's culture and program. Some parents ask about the intensity of training and how the school can help their kids to cope with the studies... etc....

I see.... I thought since these kids who received the invitation letters must be the ones the school is \"eye-Ing\" at, so they must have a very good chance to be successful. Maybe there are more kids who received the invitation letters than the available DSA spots....? Are there cases (or how many) whereby the kids did not receive any invitation letter but yet successful in DSA to that school?

I think they generally do stand a better chance because the school has already noted their ability. Its not a confirmed offer tho - the child still has to show aptitute in whatever academic tests and interviews and good attitude at the trial.

I know of quite a few kids who did not get an invitation but get noticed at the dsa trials when they apply for the school.

I am planning for dd to write DSA (cedar girls secondary) in 2017. Anyone share their experience about DSA (GAT) test. Please advise me how to prepare for test.

                Thanks in advance.

There is quite a bit of discussion here on GAT, attached for easy reference...

Suggest checking directly with school you're targeting for DSA. Some not doing GAT. Some do.
