Anglo-Chinese School (Independent)
-
Hi, I wish to seek admission of my son ( who is presently in Victoria school) to ACSi for year3 in 2018. Please advise how to prepare for HAST and also share relevant experience in cracking the test. Thanks!

My son was admitted to Secondary ONE Express at Anglo Chinese School Independent missing out on the IP by one point.
Can anyone tell me what is the criteria for moving into the Year 3 Integrated Pathway stream after the second year please?
Should this even be his target for the next two year?
Thank you in advance for your advice! -

You will be duly notified in early 2018 by the P when the application to Yr3 IB is opened for Yr2 boys. The criteria to apply will be spelt out in detail then.My son was admitted to Secondary ONE Express at Anglo Chinese School Independent missing out on the IP by one point.

There will be a HAST and an interview (for those who clear the HAST). Yr1 results, Yr2 mid year exam results, CCA performance and teacher's recommendation are also taken into consideration. -
Does anyone have any experience with DSA into ACS(I) at Year 5 (from another IP school via PSLE posting)? Is there any specific area that the school is looking for? Sports? Overall academic excellence? Any estimated quota for each "domain" and/or gender? Thanks!

There's an announcement from the school website that application for DSA at Yr 5 is opened now.

Thanks AppleCrumble for the link. I am aware of the link, just asking if there are personal experiences that can be shared. These are usually not found on the official website, but could be the most useful tips and insights!mommyNg:

From what is provided in the school website, it seems that the school is looking for an 'all-rounder'. All your queries are addressed in the 'Write-up' and 'FAQ' documents.[

I may be wrong but looking at the short time line from application closing date (3 Jul 2017) to school issuing a Letter of Confirmed Offer (25 Jul 2017), it appears that it is just 'apply and wait for outcome' kind of application (unlike DSA-Sec where there are domain selection tests and interviews and the whole exercise lasts from Apr/May to end Aug).
Teacher's interviews are 'if necessary' (according to 'Write-up'). Hope that some forummer with the interview experience will step forward to share.

Thanks AppleCrumble! The short time line from application closing date to issuing a Letter of Confirmed Offer is indeed very short, with no tests, trials, or interviews (only \"if necessary\", but we don't know what is \"if necessary\"). My guess is that the applicant must be pretty strong \"on paper\", e.g., win xx Olympiad or competition, school council leader, top x% of the school with excellent results, etc. The school shared that there is about 20-30 slots available for DSA-JC exercise (after taking into account their own IB boys, MGS girls and O level students), but not sure how many applicants and thus acceptance rate. That's why it will be extremely helpful if there is anyone with the application experience who can share with us here.

Hi, my son is keen to go to ACSI but we live at East Coast. Does anyone know if there is any private transport services to the school at all? And if yes, any from east to the school?

Hi everyone,
My nephew did badly for his Math mid year exam. Like failed badly 42%. Is it normal to fail once in a major exam? Or he is exceptioanlly weak?
A bit worried.
