MrsKiasu:
i had my hair cut very short.. Sally Yeh's hairstyle in the 80s about an inch or more only and swept.side way from the side parting (side parting not even obvious actually )together with fringe..that was from my very long hair to a sudden shortest..whole person shrank to a petite size. needless to say cried at night la. was stress with exam so went to the extreme. but i always remember my childhood friend once told me that short hair suited me more as it accentuate my facial feature..but now too fat already la..need to cover up liao

i used to cut zoe tay's hairstyle in her very first drama as Bobo. so VERY cool
but every 3 weeks i had to visit the hairstylist. back then, i was younger and face was slimmer. now i won't dare to cut that hairstyle.

I comb my hair once a day, immediately after washing.
No need to comb when I just woke up or before leaving the house. Zero maintenance. No perm, rebond, treatment or highlight. Only use shampoo, no conditioner. I don't tie hair either.
The reason I keep long hair is because I'm too lazy to go hairdresser. If I noticed slightly more hairfall than usual then that is my reminder to visit hairdresser to lighten the weight.
Haha sometimes I think my life revolves around one word 'nua'

I have a stupid question for gals with long hair - how do you sleep with long hair?
I gather my hair and lift above my head before lying down on pillow. So my hair spread out at top of my pillow and I won't roll on my own hair when I toss and turn -

Dinner time? DH did that for a while, but we all protested over the unfairness of it because he would have showered etc and get himself ready LEISURELY, then say, \"Let's go in five minutes. \" and spend time tapping his feet impatiently  It actually made everyone very stressed because my boys need 15min each, and I do not want them to get into the habit of 5min showers. God knows how dirty that is. (If they have to be dirty in NS so be it, but not right now under my nose!) Eventually I put my foot down. Now he gives us one hour notice and I use the shower first. :pokeeye:ammonite:
:scratchhead: not sure why you cannot leave the house at the spur of the moment with long hair, but agree that short hair does look better at a certain age.
It's because he seemed to often say \"let's go ...\" when I was going to wash my hair, or I'd just washed my hair and needed to dry it (don't like going out with wet hair when it's long - very cold!), or I would want to get back earlier in order to wash my hair... -

I do that only when I sleep alone.ammonite:

Do you have very fine hair? Mine is bushy and wavy and needs taming in this weather. Handled properly, many people think I have gone for Korean perms. Otherwise it is just big big hair without rebonding. -

My husband isn't unreasonable, and will usually give us enough notice, especially since he knows I don't do \"spontaneous\" well! But he is the spontaneous type, and it can be hard on him to have to plan everything well in advance. I didn't cut my hair because of that anyway; that's just a bonus that he appreciates! My reason for cutting my hair short was coming back to Singapore - being a SAHM with 2 small kids, and with the heat (we don't use aircon at home much), short hair seemed like the best plan. I knew when I cut it that I was almost certain never to grow it out again. -

Yes thin fine hair. Super straight too so I have never done rebond. My challenge is how to add volume. My hair is the nicest when I just woke up because appear thicker but voluminous effect only lasted 30 minutes

Small kids, no help and long hair certainly don't go well together!

It does take energy to be spontaneous. I personally am happy to sit down and rest after a day on my feet. -

Because you sleep with hair up. When I do that I get mega big eighties hair. To get volume, after you towel dry your hair, blow dry until about 80 percent dry. Divide your hair into broad sections, spritz your hair roots with a suitable hairspray and blow dry upwards for the front. For the rest, it may be easier to bend over and blow dry. Basically you will be recreating your morning hair look and holding it with hairspray. It should last for a few hours.

but if you like your hair's current condition, then don't do too much to it as blow drying can be damaging over time. I am surprised that you don't need conditioner as I recall you have eczema. -
I have oily hair so have to wash hair diligently. Skip 1 day and my hair will look flat. Conditioner also makes my hair appear flat.
I hardly use hairdryer. Never use hair spray, except on my wedding day
Wow so many steps to add volume. I read already feel tired
Now I simply bend forward and mess up my hair then flip right and left, can be ready to leave house liao. My laziness overwrites everything
You prefer straight hair? Have you tried jojoba oil on hair?
dd1 hair texture is different from dd2 and I. She has super thick hair and abit uncontrollable.
I bought jojoba oil for her to apply and managed to change her hair texture after 1.5 years. Now her hair is very manageable and no longer need to apply oil
