Got the viral flu last week, was horrible. I took abt 7 days to nurse! Really angry tat I caught the bug suddenly! Now still feel tired n headache , dh was abit unwell now with stuffy nose n scratchy throat - probably weather too chilly yesterday n we were out running errands.

go easy on yourself for the next couple of days. insufficient rest and chilly weather can knock one out easily.
my whole family including parents were down with viral flu in may for about 2 weeks. it spread from one person to another just like that.
take care and get well soon.

Thks Janet for reminder šŸ™‚

Agree 6 horses revision a day is a lot . Why not adults try yourself 6 hrs revision at the study table , see u feel comfortable or not šŸ˜›

Can leh. If at home the whole day that day, I think easily achievable.

45 mins study (1 block) 15 mins break. Or 25 mins study 5 mins break. No hard or fast rule. See how long you can concentrate. Lunch break can be 1 hours. Spread out study blocks the entire day. Still have plenty of time to watch tv and relax. 1 day 24 hours. 6 hours studying + 8 hours sleep, still got many hours to chill leh

6 hours I considered a relaxed mode of studying. If during exam period, I studied even longer hours šŸ˜“ Bo bian, I wasn't the super smart kind of student so had to subscribe to å‹¤čƒ½č”„ę‹™ šŸ˜‰

From what I remember I could study 'full time' during my school days and also dont study but just do the past year papers near exam.

I would say during the holidays, it'll be a good idea to get in some good, solid revision time every day. Maybe 2 hours every morning and another 1.5 hours in the evening? But it has to be every day. No excuses. No work, no play. And you have to enforce that. Never mind if they complain or cry or whine. They'll get over it. You really just have to be the enforcer. That's the reality.

Thanks FC, I shall give that a try on weekdays :xedfingers:
But I thought Mrs ks u mentioned ur dd sci is level TOP last SA2. Means she v clever n is studying herself .
no level top la mp. dd hasnt been reaching the school average past all SAs.. still panting. now go backward somemore. smart? yes, I heard the word smart from one of cher, say dd is careless, is smart but need use 'blain' more often wor. clever, no I dont think so..need to work hard and less careless to see better marks. as of now understanding of subjects other than languages so far think ok ba..as per what dd told me. lack of revision is main problem other than being careless, i would think. but the other type of math so far thrown both of us from the chair straight to the bed..different class la. study or dont study really doesn't matter šŸ˜‰

Fever is scary...it usually shoots up in the evening. Looks like your flu bug was really a strong one. Did the doctor give you any strong medication to bring down the fever?
I was coughing so badly and the phlegm was driving me nuts as it caused my throat to be so itchy. The flumucil I took didn't help to loose the phlegm. Doc only gave me cough mixture, vasican and steroid.

That freezing feeling is terribly hard to bear.

I think regular exercise helps to fight flu and cough

Today, I woke up around 6.15am, swept and mopped the floor, swam and had a good scrub of myself
Now am sipping coffee and reading news online

Haha that's fast !
I must finish house chores b4 any makings type.
Mrs ks, I think ur dd Sch is a above avg popular Sch . Not the normal Sch in neighborhood, to be getting average range or slightly below average , should be pretty ok compared to the whole population .
I think u may have give yourself too much unnecessary stress on yourself n her. My kids are also in mid range in popular schools. When my ds in top neighborhood pri Sch last time ,he was in top class n range , then when he switch to a popular non neighborhood Sch , he is just a avg student there- I set realistic expectations - likewise for my dd.
Ah yo, I was not the type who can study 6 hours or more when in pri or Sec Sch , only when I grew up then bo pian. I feel after 5 or 6 hrs , brain not fresh Liao . I think I have short attention span .... hahaha ...
does not matter to be top in pri, Sec or A level . Aim for upper class honour in Uni when they grow up -v v good Liao ... but I have no class honor degree .... am work smart type thus can still earn pretty ok income compared to my other frens who came fr famous Sch .. I m v thankful n blessed indeed.

Yep exercise regular will help to fight virus faster n stronger . But this flu virus is really strong , I ate too much heaty food n stress on my body lately - had been bringing my mum to sgh more than 10 times for all sorts of check up ( lucky she is no major illness just those Rojak senior citizens minor illnesses- her vertigo did cause a lot of discomfort
