I am intended to register my child for Xingnan over Jurong West Pri school for P1 2014 registration. Any mum child is currently studying at xingnan could give any comment on this school?

Or anyone can share the booklist for Xingnan pri for this year pri 1 so i start preparing to see whether i could get second hand textbook from friends. Thanks.

Hi, I have many students from Xingnan Pri. So I can probably offer some advice.


If the students are smart, the school will do their best to assist them. They will have external classes after school, finding external vendors to give them additional enrichment classes etc.

However, if the student is rather weak, the teacher will give up on him or her. I have parents complaining that their children are being called 'stupid' and 'hopeless', and no remedial for them.

I heard for their recent mock prelim paper, about 40% of the pupils failed.

Also, regarding the standard of paper, pri 4 one is much easier compared to other schs like pioneer, west grove and rulang. However, pri 6 one is about the same standard as PSLE papers. Personally, I feel more can be done to build their foundations in the earlier yrs.

Seriously...calling the kid stupid/ hopeless? That is totally unacceptable!
:?: if my child comes home with that being told to her, i would definately meet up with the teacher and principle to understand the actual situation.

Any parents with primary 1 kids who took school bus to and fro school for the first time today? I told my son to ensure he buckle up his seat belt when he gets on the bus. When he came back today, he looked really upset (he was so looking forward to the ride) and told us that the bus driver told (kind of raised his voice at him) him not to buckle and ‘swipe’ his hands off the seat belt (thats how he explain but of course I didnt know exactly what happen). He also mentioned that the driver was constantly shouting at the kids. He is now really afraid of the driver and told me that he didnt want to go to school. Can any parents who have kids taking the school bus (Bus 3 route) check with your kids to see if they have the same experience?
