My child is attending ICR at rivervale mall. So far so good. My boy didn't know how to read much before ICR, but he has learnt to read and spell after attending the classes. Acquiring the skills didn't come easy because parents have to be involved. My kid is the type didn't like homework and get distracted a lot. Every weeknight I have to spend time with him to practise his reading. Imagine same stories every night until the next lesson. It was very boring. I felt bored from listening, imagine how my little one feel. However, my boy did yield from his hard work. My hubby and I did see result.

I too feel that parents need to put in effort to help the child to read. It can be frustrating when there the child don't get it but there is a huge sense of satisfaction when we see progress. I used to send my child to phonics class but progress was slow. I then bought some phonics books and taught her myself. Now she can do blending and read common sight words. I feel so proud of myself 🕺 Now when she encounter new words, I encourage her to use phonics to decode.

Hi all, would like to ask a qns here:

I hv 2 daughters in wwp icr… as i hv planned for a year-end trip, my girls would be missing 2 lessons in term 4. Yesterday, i enquired at the counter (prior to paying term 4 fees) abt whether we would be able to attend make up lessons or wld there be a pro ration in the fees, i was told that there wld be none. This wld mean i wld be paying 4 lessons (2 lessons per girl) for nothing… is this the case for all icr branches?

AMK branch can do make-up but no pro-rated unless medical.

Hi mummy, my son is at wwp icr too. I do remember they have make up lesson. If I rmb correctly u can even write in to ask for on hold the on going lesson for up to a month. The admin mentioned to us when we first signed up as it's common for parents to bring kids for overseas trips during holiday. However, I had have many bad experiences with the admin staff at wwp. One of the bad experience that happened today, they make me feel like a beggar when I asked for the materials that should be given to my child. At the end, I walked off with my son. Even with the letter stated what we should be getting after we have paid for the material fees, the center manager can still argued that some of the things are only for newly signed up, and asked me to ignore the letter.
Do u still have the term n conditions paper with you? The one that when u first signed up for the course? If u have it, maybe u can try to ask them again...
