Dear fellow parents, Toa Payoh area

Our two girls will be leaving their beloved piano teacher soon due to our family relocation. Their slots are in the early Sunday afternoon.

The girls have been with her for 3 years+. She is very good with children and was very popular when she was with a major music school chain, before moving to private practice.

It took a while for her to have slots for our girls. She can connect with children and keeps our girls enjoying their lessons with results. (Not a disciplinary type teacher)

She operates from a flat in TP Hub/central area. The kids will use a grand piano, in an aircon home studio. Lessons are 45mins and payable per 4 lessons at reasonable 'market rates.'.

We live in the west but will travel to TP for lessons as she is good with our girls.
Interested parents pls contact me for her details. Thank you.

To milkyway who responded, pls see my reply in your PM.

Been following up on some of the above recent posts.

Agree that teaching and performing don't usually go together. Teaching leverages much on communication skills.

No one size fit all. It is just my personal opinion and I really appreciate and respect these contrasting views.

Definitely, the passion to teach and the ability to communicate will serve a teacher well and quite rightly, the first thing any discerning parent should look for. I have seen teachers who were going through the motion after 5 years on the job and has little or no regard for their students. Conversely, I have also seen teachers who stayed committed and enthusiastic after 20 years of teaching!

At some point, I think a concert pianist or performer will like to leave some form of legacy to the next generation. Some started early such as Alfred Brendel and Claudio Arrau while some start a lot later like Daniel Barenboim although there were always few who were simply not interested like Martha Argerich.

Finally, we live in Singapore where the pressures of school work do not give much allowances for the child to do anything else. However, I think it would a shame if a child with musical talent do not choose to pursue music seriously. You can always get a business and accountancy degree quite easily later in life but if you give up music, it is going to take a lot more to get back.

Hi... Can anyone recommend a good piano teacher to travel to Sembawang. Thanks a heap!

Hi. I don't know any piano Teacher to sembawang, but I do know one piano Teacher stays in sembawang B467A. My DD attended 1st lesson yday and I find her teaching environment is quite good. You don't have to walk around her whole house to get into the \"classroom\". She is very bubbly but speaks very fast. Her timing is all back to back. I supposed she is quite good otherwise my friend would have stop her DS to learn from her a long time. If you want to know her contact, I am happy to share.

Hi, try to pm you but can't get through. Can you share to me the Sembawang piano teacher contact? My email: [email protected]
            thanks.

                        Hi parents

I am a female piano teacher with 15 years of teaching experience in children as young as 4 years old. I have a ABRSM diploma in Principles of Instrumental Teaching (piano) and a Certificate in Teaching from ABRSM. I am a firm believer in developing strong foundation in young beginners during the primary stage of playing hence, I will usually involve parents in the initial stage.
I teach only in East Coast and Siglap area. I usually teach at my home studio in Siglap. I will travel if the student’s house is near to my home. If you are keen, you can WhatsApp me at 97671197. Thank you.
