Save yourself some trouble. Just monitor the situation at both schools and register on the last day. No need to register on the first day just to withdraw and register the next day. This is not a first-come-first-served system.

Of course, if you are sure you die die want School A, then go do it on the first day so others know what their stakes are.

I hope it's like what BigDevil said- MOE system can do instaneous withdrawal. No need to wait till the next day to register at school B. For my case, I have registered for Phase 2A(2). I am thinking of withdrawing on the last day of phase 2C to register for another school if the number of vacancies are not filled at school B and no need to ballot.

If I call school B on the last day of Phase C to check the registration numbers, will they reveal?

Some schools reveal; some don't. I've just encountered it.[/quote]Need to understand that some schools, especially the popular ones, will be overwhelmed with people calling in on the last day of Phase 2C to ask about registration numbers. Hence, it is entirely reasonable that they would not be able to reply or provide you with the data.

I totally understand; the school that I checked (it was for my relative); isn't a popular school; she said she cannot reveal as it is against MOE policies; just wait for website update...

Oh no, if they don't reveal that means we have to base on our gut sense to make the decision. Or rely on the 2nd last day website update to make the call. :slapshead:

Lol. Against MOE policies. All they need to do is to say that they don't have the exact information and so cannot reveal it over the phone.

But some schools are now getting the sense to put the info online, although I don't know how updated the information is. You might want to just check the school's website.

I wanted to tell her; hey 2 other schools i rang before yours gave me the numbers without problem. No; this school don't update the P1 registration numbers online.

The traditional way is to walk physically into the general office and ask nicely…and see whether they give you black face or not LOL…but then you will get to find out whether the admin staff of that school are nice or not. U will/will not be dealing with them for the next 6 years, so you might as well know beforehand ya?

True, but that wasn't my school. I was checking for a relative. My school gladly gave me the numbers; the lady even chuckled when I told her I'm only coming in at 2B.

Phase 2A(2) balloting info is https://www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/primary-one-registration/balloting. Both NYPS and NHPS require balloting for those beyond 2km.

I have read somewhere but I can’t seem to find it. If there are vacant slots in Phase 2A, will the remaining vacancies be transferred to 2B or will they be divided equally between 2B and 2C?
