really? even the schools are not government? It is MOE that allocates the no. of DSA places for each school, and the domains. The school has no say; they have to wait for MOE's allocation every year.
This is what I was told by the teacher in charge of Shooting when we went for a top girls' school's DSA Open House in March. She said she didnt know if they would have any Shooting DSA places this year becos MOE had not decided on any quota yet. According to her, MOE wants talent to be more evenly distributed across Spore's schools. That probably explains why some schools get 0 quota for certain domains this year. -
STEM is a new domain in dhs this year. Guess govt is big on promoting STEM in education.

This year is the first time most schools are not using GAT paper, so we are all playing guessing game now. Is it good news to be selected for half day programme after interview :? can somebody enlighten us :stompfeet:Hi, DD had completed the interview, trial and entry test at SOTA for DSA Dance.
She had also attended the interview at RGS for maths domain, may I know if all called for interviews would go for the test or it will be selected students again? Does anyone has experience before as how the test like? -

Not all called for interview will be selected for half day program. Some may be rejected or put on waitlist. This is last year practice. Not sure about this year.

Hi Anyone receive the letter from NYGH concerning the trials.?
Trials are on-going, in fact some are completed. Better to check with school directly if you have yet to receive news. -

Anyone else has similar experience for other dsa domains in other schools this year? Is it true that the number of domains and places allocated depends on 'Ah gong say so' (MOE)??It is MOE that allocates the no. of DSA places for each school, and the domains. The school has no say; they have to wait for MOE's allocation every year.

It should be the secondary school that proposes to MOE and then MOE will look at their plans and approve it.
