Agree, and if you think about it, having your DS practice for EL comprehension and doing math is also already exposing him and preparing for selection test as well
As you have noted, PSLE is still the major end goal, specially relevant if you want to apply for scholarships or awards in secondary school or tertiary education career even. -

Likely to be after 7 July and by 3rd week of July. Cos their DSA application closes on 7 July. -
