Hi, Dear friends, any suggestions for application of Mathematics Subject in UK University?

1)\tMy son wants to study Mathematics in Oxford/Imperial College/UCL/LSE, Further Math is required, however, no further math is offered in Singapore A Level, is there chance to enter such universities without further math?
      2)\tAny other suggestions for application?

      Thank you very much.
Hi, as far as I know, all of these universities do not require further math from Singapore applicants. He can apply to all of them as long as he obtains 3 H2 As 😄

For application to top universities, A level grades become irrelevant when the minimum criteria are met. It is important to prepare well for the MAT (Mathematics Admissions Test) & Interviews.

      Good luck!

Does anyone here have experience, or have contacts, who have experience studying in a university that uses a foreign language (eg. German, Japanese etc.)?

Son is having a dilemma between going for NUS accountancy with a dean’s scholarship and UCL Econs without scholarship (got straight As and in NS now, but hasn’t gotten any scholarship offers from sponsors he’s interested in). Am new to this forum so would appreciate any constructive input in advance! (And sorry if this is the wrong place to post comparisons!)

Pros and cons to both. Which course is he more interested in, Accountancy or Economics?

If you can afford comfortably, then to me is always go overseas, esp now that the Lee siblings are 'quarreling' that makes building some external network even more valuable than before.

If you have to fund him till face green green, then should stay with NUS.

I always thought the prestige is in this order:

                1. Overseas university scholarship
                2. Ivy League and Oxbridge (no scholarship)
                3. Local universities
                4. Other overseas universities

                Am I wrong?

Parents with children studying in UK, which telecom provider is the recommended mobile phone plan? Many thanks in advance.

Kids recommended EE (http://ee.co.uk/), saying comparably cheaper and good (the data seems like able to get 'free roaming' when travelling in Europe and if I remember correctly, they were raving about they could also use free roaming in selected countries like Spore. Do reconfirm on this as benefits may change now and then).

Your son's in NS now too? Overseas is always a good option for experience; no worries as UCL is pretty much recognized by many finance MNCs (I assume that's where someone who applies for econs and acc would be interested in?) If funding is an issue though, I'm not sure if it's possible but may consider trying other scholarship boards or re-attempting application. My son found this website offering sample questions for people to prepare for interviews, hopefully it'll be helpful to you. Cheers!
