      Jennifer:
It was reported in The Straits Times that we should not gauge the salt content based on how saltish the food taste.

I do not add table salt during cooking. The light soya sauce, oyster sauce used in the marinating already contain sodium. Some other sauces such as the Korean marinating sauce n dark soya sauce also has sodium. Really no reason to add any more table salt.

Talking about olive oil, MIL is under the impression that it is a very healthy oil. She uses it carelessly in stir fry veg. My boys complain about the veg being too oily but she tells them it is healthy oil 🤷 Well, the boys only go to her house to eat lunch on weekends, I guess won't be too much damage done.

I'm quite sensitive to salt/salty food. I can put on 1kg after a chicken rice meal with their given lotus root peanut soup. so i try not to eat too much of outside food.

I think genes have a lot to do with overall health outcomes too. I just got some medical results back, and my LDL is now "borderline high"! Considering that my diet is healthier than average even though I don’t try extremely hard, it’s hard to know what to adjust.

Yes, yes, I know! But I'm not entirely unexercised - I do use my stationary bike a couple of times a week, and I take public transport and walk quite a bit.

i just googled for LDL…can get info on which are the good food and the ones to avoid. I need to use butter substitute to avoid the trans fat…for a moment thought can give myself more freedom on food to eat…looks like still better to control…wont be excessive but think good to keep reminding ourselves.

The 2 little girls kicked Mommy when Daddy said hello to them.

Everyone was glad to see me home.I told my wife about DD1 and DD2's misdeeds regarding their homework and she told me it was hard enough carrying 2 more girls.Told me to check their work instead.I cooked a sumptuous seafood dinner for the family to welcome myself back.MIL and her sis helped out while my wife rested because she was too tired.

DD2 gave Mommy's stomach unhappy face looks and pouted when I spoke to her 2 younger sisters though.
