            Hi Parents,

Does anyone have any experience with the timing of the actual PSLE Oral Exams? My question is that whether all students have to report to school, for example, at 730am, and wait until their turn even though their turn may be later in the afternoon, e.g. 4pm. My concern is whether the child has the opportunity to eat lunch or have a snack. Do they all have to be confined at the same time or can they report to school at staggered allocated timeslots? Thanks.

My child bought a recommended oral practice book with dvd from the school but it cannot be played on my dvd home theatre system, nor on my laptop cd player too… what is wrong?

The school should have issued out instructions.
                Oral typically ends before lunch.
There will be two batches so two different reporting time.
First batch kids will only dismissed at a fixed time (after second batch kids reported to sch) and second batch kids I recalled can go off as soon as finish their turn.

Canteen may not be open so do just standby a snack.

There are 2 batches: 8am (reporting 7.30am) and 10am (9.30am). Your child should know which batch he is.
1st batch release all at 10am.
2nd batch First come first go. Earliest to leave is 10.30am, Last person of 2nd batch leaves by 12pm. There is no need to bring food, its a usual 2-3hr gap without food.

Ds gets very anxious before/during oral and written papers. He will have tummy upset, there will be frequent visits to the loo, feels vomiting, etc. How can I make him calm? This year P6s did their mid-year exam in the school hall. He was so nervous. I saw his papers, there were a couple of careless mistakes.

I talked to him, comfort him, reassure him, gave him a few tips to stay calm, like taking a deep breathing before he starts his papers, etc.
                      Any other tips, parents?

My ds2 first science exam paper in p3 he was very nervous. I think that is why he vomitted and had to be sent home halfway into the paper.

Now he does stuff he likes before exam. Like reading (not exam stuff), drawing (tessellation/string art drawing - basically repetitive mindless stuff to calm him down), playing ‘air’ piano etc. Let him do what he enjoys doing while waiting. Some kids prefer to cramp last min revision and if that soothe them just holding onto the materials, so be it.
