Who gets first on the waiting list really depends on the sch. Priority could be given to pvs who were balloted out in 2B or for parents who ask to be put on the list after 2C and 2CS.


We got a call earlier this year from the school where we were balloted out last year after doing PV for slightly more than 40 hrs. But we decided not to transfer our boy as we are v happy and contented with his current sch. The environment is a much better fit. Co-ed and with caring trs. So don’t need to worry if yr child didn’t get into a school of your original choice. It could v well be a blessing in disguise. What makes a school "good" is really the teachers and the school leaders. That’s what matters.

Thank you for sharing! This provides a partial answer as to why some people who are seemingly low in the waitlist may actually get the offer. It could be some of those who were offered earlier reject the offer because they are happy with their existing school, so it goes to the next in line.

Just would like to check did MOE website ever publish the breakdown of the distance the applicant come from during the application stage for phase 2c this year. Example how many applicants from more than 2 km

My girl also balloted out from Poi Ching in 2C, we stay within 1km of Poi Ching and St.Hilda, but the two schools balloted out nearly 90 SC within 1km! For phase 2CS, the other 5 schools still have vacancies in Tampines, which school shall I consider? Only Tampines North Primary within 1-2km from my home but only 39 vacancies, others all 2km away. Or shall I consider other school outside Tampines? I think 2CS will also be fierce in Tampine, maybe need ballot again…

I feel yr pain. I m also ballot out from the school with 114 SC within 1 km fighting for 92 seats. I m only down to one school with 1 km from me with 45 seats now.
I have also look outside my region as a backup just in case. I have no wish to ballot again and I do not want MOE to decide for me

Hi Koaddymumy, you still have choice within 1km, don't worry, you can get the seat.
I don't have choice within 1km, now so headache which school should we choose at 2CS. :gloomy:

Thanks for your well wishes. I think you should also have a school outside your region as a back up. In this case you won’t be at a loss when the first school you intend to enrol is full (touch wood). I hope we all get the schools you desired
