Me Time!

slmkhoo:
I just spent an afternoon at the dentist - my daughter needs wisdom teeth surgery, but the wait for consultation and x-ray was so long! And after the x-ray, he said to come back for the surgery tonight! Well, at least she will get to eat dinner first. Thankfully I did quite a bit of work earlier in the day, and I should be able to do quite a bit tomorrow. 2 projects going on at once at the moment. Maybe I'll bring my computer with me tonight.
i remember waiting for a LONG time to get the x ray done before extracting a wisdom tooth at jurong medical.
then wait again for the dentist to get it removed. as i have a low pain threshold, the dentist had to make sure the area was totally numb. when i entered the clinic, the dentist added more LA.
my girl is still very playful...end of year exam dates are almost released and working backwards, revision has to be planned. she is still in la-la land :frustrated: common tests after national day week. -
You guys are talking about dentists…
I have a phobia of going to dentists. -

Must find a dentist you are comfortable with, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.

DH says bring DD2 along with us to Tiong Bahru market for breakfast. Last night DD2 told him "she feels like dying…". DH was worried but I guess it’s just due to too much homework lah.
DD2 had Lor Mee, nonya kueh and yu sheng porridge. She commented nice and looked happy. -

Yes, because my daughter has such limited hours that she can have it done, and we would rather do it now (lull period before prelims and A levels, and N.Day holidays coming up) than risk having her wisdom teeth act up during the exams.Slmkhoo
Yours is a private dental clinic?
It was a very long wait in the afternoon before getting the initial consultation and x-ray, then they asked us to come back at 9pm! She had the jabs after 11pm, her surgery past midnight, and by the time we left the clinic, it was 2am! After getting the stitches removed next week, we definitely won't go back there because I can't stand that kind of waiting time. I chose the place because I had been once and been impressed by the dentist's skill, and the receptionist told me (inaccurately) that the surgery could be done straight after consult and x-ray without making another appointment. When I went last year (for an aborted root canal), the wait was only 1 hr. But talking to others in the waiting room last night, waits of 2-3 hrs are common! I will stick with my regular dentist in future - she requires separate visits for x-ray and surgery, which I was trying to avoid because my daughter's schedule is so packed, but in the end, I would have preferred that to having to wait so many hours.
Edited to add: The dentist is very skillful, so no complaints on that score. It's the waiting that kills! -
hi slmkhoo,
the 2nd time i had my wisdom tooth removed, it was definitely much faster and less painful. best part is i didn’t feel the needle and bitterness of the jab. oh yes, no stitches either. -

My daughter had no complaints about the jabs and the surgery, and she says there isn't much pain now, just soreness - she doesn't even need painkillers. She's planning to go to youth group in church this afternoon, and she will attend a family dinner (I will pack soup and steamed egg for her) tonight!hi slmkhoo,

Rehearsal finally over in the morning,on the way home and I can finally sleep in my own bed tonight.Had not been home for a while.
I suggested to everyone to tabao lunch at ABC market and a weekend wagon riding session at ECP since it has been some time we did something like that. The girls will be going back to school tomorrow for the last time to bid goodbye to their teachers and friends. They are sad to leave though cos they grew up and studied in Malaysia for the past 11 years.
Everyone esp the girls heartily agreed with today’s activities.Weather looks great too.
