[quote=\"Jennifer\"]Parents with children studying in UK, which telecom provider is the recommended mobile phone plan? Many thanks in advance.
Kids recommended EE (http://ee.co.uk/), saying comparably cheaper and good (the data seems like able to get 'free roaming' when travelling in Europe and if I remember correctly, they were raving about they could also use free roaming in selected countries like Spore. Do reconfirm on this as benefits may change now and then).
It's really cheap and reliable, and most of the UK students are using this. -
Hi,
I am flametree's daughter, currently studying in Edinburgh, UK for my undergraduate degree.
I just checked the EE website about their roaming, and the 53 countries that they include are as follows:
https://shop.ee.co.uk/international/travelling-abroad
Customers can take their UK allowances to Austria, Azores, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Canary Islands, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, French Guyana, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Guadeloupe, Guernsey, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Jersey, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Madeira, Malta, Martinique, Mayotte, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Reunion Islands, Romania, San Marino, Saint Martin (French), Saint Barthelemy, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City (Italy). Customers on a new 4GEE Max plan can take their UK allowances to the above destinations as well as Australia, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and USA.
On the other hand, another telco that I personally use, Three, has much more countries (60) that they include, Singapore being one of them, as well as countries outside of the EU. Since my contract is a 12 month contract, this is really useful as I would be able to use my phone plan in Singapore when I'm back on summer break, without having to get a prepaid SIM card at home, while still paying for my phone contract in Edinburgh.

I would personally definitely recommend 3, and the phone plan that I am currently on is as follows - £17 for unlimited data (up to 4GB of your data allowance as a personal hotspot), unlimited texts and 200 voice minutes.
Good luck!

I reconfirmed with my kids after reading your post as what you have seems to be similar to what they used to have (esp that part about can roam free while in Spore). Yes, their plans were from Three (and the ee was for older plans).
Nice summary and apologise for earlier mis-info! -

Son is having a dilemma between going for NUS accountancy with a dean's scholarship and UCL Econs without scholarship (got straight As and in NS now, but hasn't gotten any scholarship offers from sponsors he's interested in). Am new to this forum so would appreciate any constructive input in advance! (And sorry if this is the wrong place to post comparisons!)
My own opinion, shall consider UCL. By the way, may I know how long did it take UCL to make decision after your son submitted his application? My son will submit his application soon, so I want to have some feels on this. Thanks a lot. -
Hi, I’m a secondary school student.
Recently after my exams, I started to research more about study overseas, and noticed that most overseas Unis require SIPCAL [Singapore Integrated Programme Cambridge A-Levels, however, I must ask, is staying express to head to JC more advisable or going IB more advisable? Thanks -
Anyone heard of Admissions Consulting where there are consultants helping students to get into Ivy League Universities? My girl’s centre is offering this service but have not heard so much about it. Any parents who have been through it before and what is your take?

Hi parents,
If you are looking for your child to go Overseas Uni, SAT is an important entrance exam needed for admissions. If any of you is looking for SAT exam prep for your kids… Recently, I have a few friends who sent their kids to this prep centre - Jamboree Education, and their kids got pretty good results. Also, they provide college admission counseling as well. So just thought I will share it with you guys. -
