Before 31 Aug, I'm quite certain schools can still convert WL. After that date I'm not too sure still possible coz that's the time entire CO list will be in MOE system.kash313:
once school informs parents, they submit list to MOM nothing can be done after that regardless of if its before 31st August or not. I think what we can do as suggested by someone earlier, after all results out, make a list of how many parents have more then 1 CO and which school CO they are giving up so that parents on WL can have some rough idea. I understand not every parent is on this forum but still we can get a fair idea.
There's still one whole week ahead.
I totally understand what ur trying to say as I am also waiting for the outcome. -

These are really for those traditionally 'hot' schools with exceptionally more applicants than candidates. Anecdotally, RI, ACSI, HCI, NUSH, NYGH, RGS, MGS, etc. I know ACSI >900 applicants this year compared to >800 last year chasing after 130 places. For NUSH, it's again different coz no S1 posting & all via DSA. So, decision might not be as expediently made.
there was no option form for CO received from CHS or SOTA. Not sure about other school. Only state in the letter to select in the option form that will be issued via school on 30Oct
MOE controls up to this framework in these past years, but moving fwd, I'm sure every school will not need to sweat over places given up but not informed before S1 posting, which means they can't offer the remaining (untaken) DSA places to their DSA choice applicants who are equally good but just stuck in the queue. -

Earlier before we received COs, I've been monitoring & suspect other schools smarter in their strategy - they offer sure cases & for sports & talents they want first. Those accept/reject clearly (coz some sports master kept asking DC's classmate if they're sure they'll take up coz many others want their place!). Then the remaining offer before/by next week & leave less chance for parents to sit on most of their offers.
Yes, this p and educators are heartfelt, they know our anxious parents' feeling, that's why they released the results so early. But still, there are quite number of schools still working on it. I believe all our forum participants are considerate, if they can do it, they will call.
Nevertheless, it's an imperfect world with live in. No perfect solutions. I'm sure when MOE take over, veteran parents with younger ones wld look back at the 'more flexible' DSA process that we hv now. Just MHO. Pls do not flame. -

It dose not matter if you get 2 or more co or co+WL. Spend reasonable time to compare the schools carefully, select the only one that suits our DC is very important. I don't think there are parents will Dsa to schools they don't like. It's only which one like the best or suits the best.

Nothing surprises me in life. There are some applied for schools they hear are good, w/o first regarding child's interests, inclination, etc. Some adopt attitude apply as many & get which to narrow down 'slowly'. Some got COs & take their time. It's not wrong in their perspectives. I'm only concern if we can highlight to parents willing to be considerate by working it out early & release the extra places sooner than later.
I'm only sharing coz I read so many of you anxiously waiting....
I just want to give my point of view that first we are not able to tell those \"slowly\" narrow down COs are selfish or they want to make a prudent
decision. We can't moral kidnapping them.
I read through 2016 DSa post on ksp,when some WL and co results are out parents discussed this topic too. It was not in the end a very happy discussion because non party can convince the other.
Just be kind to everybody.
If COs decide to give up a CO, they can choose to post here or contact school, they can choose to keep to themselves too. If COs like to take more time to make the decision, we need to give them the space because they have their rights.

Btw, HCI principal DSA brief is on 28 Oct. Many HCi COs may look forward to this too. -

I know. It's very anxious time for parents of DSA candidates.
I learnt not to be overly anxious & try help others to feel positive. Ive learnt fr ano KSP mum coz she shared going thro PSLE alone made her loose part of her crowning glory. Keep yourself calm. Do all the Tai-chi & deep breathing like how we wld teach our young ones to handle stress. -
