Hi,
Report by 7.45am, except Wednesday 8.45am.
thank you! what time is considered late and first lesson starts at what time? how much pocket money do they need? thank you for sharing…
Hi,
According to my girl, you will be considered late if you tap into the gantry after 7.50am. The first lesson starts at 8.15am, wednesdays start at 9.15am. I am not sure how much is considered as ‘sufficient’ but I give $30-$35 a week.
thank you for the information! very helpful…

do u know if the students like to go PS and Cathay? or they are too busy to do so?

        Hi,
My girl went to PS/Cathay with her friends around 4-5 times since January. They usually go straight home. However, she mentioned that her seniors go to PS/Cathay more often when they need to stay back late for rehearsals or to complete VA projects. The reason is after 4.30pm, there is limited food in the canteen. But my girl shared that they also go to 7-11 nearby to get food instead.

Anyone knows what are the hours like for Visual Arts for the first year at least? When do they normally end?

Are they allowed to go out of school to have their lunch? Thanks

The time table is mostly the same for all the kids, with Dance and Voice students having slightly longer days on 2-3 days of the week (ending at 7-730 pm, but there are usually a couple of breaks for them throughout the day).

Officially, the earliest time they can leave school is 1.15 pm. My dd (LA) ends between 1.45 - 2.45 (2x a week, depending on odd/even week), 5.25 pm(2x a week) and 4.55 pm (on Wed, but they start at 850 am on wednesdays). I think for Year 1s, most of them eat lunch in school. Lunch is usually an hour.

On late days, they also get a short break at 245 (in addition to recess).

                      Hi Catz2222,

They can only tap out of the gantry at 1.15pm. Otherwise, they can’t leave the school.

I'm not a parent volunteer but SOTA has a rather active parents' association. I dont think it's a daily commitment (secondary school kids don't need parents to supervise during recess etc haha) but their PSG organises a lot of activities (e.g. Year 6 dinners, racial harmony day, teachers' day celebration, CNY goodie bags etc).

You can sign up to be a formal member (there'll be a recruitment drive when school starts) or just join them for ad hoc activities.
