bbrooster:
DHS letter is here. Check your mailbox.
:congrats: -
I will let my DD open personally after she is back from school.

Thats exactly what is written in my son's NUSH WL letter too.... it clearly says place is Only confirmed if you put NUSH as your 1st choice.
Lavenderbloom:
Not unfair bcoz WL depends whether after all CO accepted anyone release. If no places released or few places offered to WL in queue and u are down the line, no chance to convert WL. But yr CO remains. You cannot participate in S1 posting thereafter once u exercised yr Options Form.
You might want to check this again with the school. According to the CO letter I've received, the place is only confirmed if my child ranks it as first choice in the option form.
Yes if for WL, MUST put as 1st choice to be considered. -
Lenient mummy:
Nothing is guranteed. I think exams can work both ways. I have seen cases that didnt do well for prelims but did very well for PSLE. There are also cases that did very well, but not sure what happened on PSLE day. Sometimes could be stress or suddenly don't feel well.
Hi mommyng, my DS also has the same problem as ur DD. This is the 1st time i post in ksp as i m really lost now. I didnt let my DS go DSA for his 1st choice of sch - RI coz i have read too many past years ksp stated that dsa successfully through academic is slim. So I tot to let him to try sch B to gauge his chances to dsa successfully among the cohort, who knows DS got CO. DS told me he wanna take the CO as dont wanna risk with tscore which may unable to enter RI. After i follow this thread, i am so regretful that didnt let him for a trial. can anybody tell me how reliable we can gauge DC's tscore with his prelim result? I feel dilemma as DS didnt get A* (except MTL) which he used to. :?: :faint:mommyNg:
My friend has this problem. Her DD was unsuccessful from Sch A but received a CO from Sch B. Her choice school is really Sch A. Now her dilemma is whether to reject CO from Sch B and try her best in PSLE to enter her dream Sch A (but risky because you won't know the results until Nov), or to accept CO from Sch B but with possible regret if PSLE results good enough to enter Sch A?
Any parents with past experiences (successful and unsuccessful ones) to share?
Only 4 weeks left, dont stress them too much. -

If she rejects CO from school B, her DSA efforts will be wasted. PSLE results are uncertain. My friend has this problem. Her DD was unsuccessful from Sch A but received a CO from Sch B. Hi bbrooster, congrats! Email or snail mail?

Cloud Cloud:
Thanks for all the sharing! The mum said she will let the child decide. The child needs to live with the DSA commitment if she accepts CO, and live with the regret if she could have gone to her dream school. Hopefully that would spur her to work harder. She also needs to know that if she can't get the results to enter either school, she will have to learn to live with it and make the most out of it. Painful, yes, but we don't get all the things we want in life too, isn't it?

No, her DSA efforts will not be wasted. The process, the interview experience, and her ability to make and live with her own decision, are all important to her growth, and hopefully she will emerge from it stronger and wiser.

Absolutely agree.
