Hi, I would like to seek opinion on IP vs IB,

Gotten both CO fm SJI and CHS, thinking what advice should I give my DS on these 2 different programs, many thanks in advance .

Perhaps, do some background homework inquiry into EOY (End-of-year) Sec 2 & Sec 4 Promotion criteria, find out the diffference between (SJI IB and Catholic High IP), ask your son which school environment or promotion criteria he is more comfortable with attaining, since he is the one going to study, for the next 6 years ahead ?

CHS (IP SAP) study Higher Chinese.

Currently in his primary school, is he taking Higher Chinese at P6 ?

Hi Charcheah,

You may need to take other factors into consideration too eg Catholic High School strong focuses on bilingualism, special programs of both schools, how both schools nurture their students through their special programs, CCAs offered by both schools, home-school distance, strength and weakness of your child.

Do discuss all these aspects with your child before making decision.

No no, you didn't miss out any info because I didn't announce the outcome publicly.
DD1 only applied to one school, SCGS IP via DSA Science.
Girl is those 斯斯文文 type, not vocal/ambitious type, so SCGS suits her. Happy for her.
She told me she is motivated to do well after receiving the CO. Prior to that, I see that she kept playing squishy and fidgeting with art & craft stuff. At first I thought she was unmotivated, now I guess she was just stressed then. Prior to that, I lost sleep due to PSLE stress. 头发都白了啦！

Congrats to receiving CO to SCGS_IP. Is your DD from SCGPS? When I went to the OH I had a feeling the P wasn’t so welcoming to non SCGPS girls due to its small cohort size?

Thank you. Yes, she is currently in SCGS Pri.

Indeed, SCGS Sec has a small cohort. I read from the sec home thread that there are only 4 IP classes (and 4 O-level) with 30 girls per class.

The P is actually quite a nice lady, I seldom drive into the school compound but once, when I drive in, she was there to open my car door for my girl to alight. I was surprised that any P would do this day after day.

Perhas patents of kids, whether they received CO/WL or rejection can share their experience. Has DSA really moved forward and looking beyond academic excellence or is it still very much the same…just narrower focus on a single subject?

Hi, asking on behalf of my friend whose DD is taking PSLE next year. For DSA sports to like RGS and NYGH and etc, do the kids need to win any national competition? She is in track and field.
