mine too. booklet B only score less than 30 😞
not sure if PSLE will such strict marking
yes...psle markers are strict. there is an answer key. even if the students are able to provide the key words, the answer must be in sequence to get the precious 2 marks...which is why MCQ section must score. if the student can get close to 56 marks, it's almost passing science exam with some extra marks from booklet b.

Pri Science now is like A'level Sc, albeit easier.

Nothing much from the school textbook, but a lot on analysis and applications.

For MCQs, they like to ask 1). A and B are true 2). A and C are true 3). All the above all true :rotflmao:

The answers are all very close. I guess the child needs to remember and understand the concepts before applying what he/she has learnt.

After going through DD1's Science prelims papers I notice DD1 lost marks for the P3/P4 part. Perhaps we focused too much on the P5/P6 topics. That's why we spent the past few days revising lower pri Science.
lower block questions can be merged with upper block ones...so on top of remembering what was taught in p5/6 which is still considered fresh in the mind, lower block syllabus is also important because anything can be asked. i remember having to revise the topic on diversity with daughter several times because there are 5 sub-topics. 😓

any of your child’s school did the tscore based on the prelim result for them?
i knew of a few cases, the estimated score is quite accurate

we did the calcln ourselves by x 0.75, pretty accurate, assuming prelims performance mirrors PSLE.

we had a pleasant surprise when she fared better than prelims. the prelim results were rather demoralizing but we didn't allow that to affect us.

Will school help us calculate the T -score for prelim?

yes...usually it is rather demoralizing as prelims are so tough.

most schools set challenging prelim exams. it really depends.
psle cannot be that difficult because it is a nation wide exam.
