iron wet uniform..so familiar to me. i used to do that when i was youngDH ever put on wet uniform on DS when he was in Primary 4 :faint: I was overseas at that time. It didn't occur to DH to iron the uniform until it is dry :slapshead: Luckily DS didn't fall sick.
Anyway, DS is brainwashed to have his uniform ironed. He knows how to iron since sec 1.

I see, as we are both working , we ironed one whole week clothes at one go - really killing !
That's the benefit of stay home mum, can have more time to teach children to do chores . But I find ironing is a in borned
skill - when u need to do it, you will know how to - just need to be careful of temp set ( logical thinking skill set in ) -

Ironed school uniform is a must for me...uniform just have to be proper
uniforms MUST be ironed. it is so unsightly when the student is wearing a uniform which is crumpled...embarrass me as the parent and the school when he/she walks out of the house.
fortunately i don't have the habit of ironing bed sheet, tees and jeans. so when the clothes are done, have to pull tees straight when wet so that they won't be crumpled. so folding plays a part.
i don't want my iron to be dropped which will cause me to buy a new one. good irons now are mostly made in china. mine is made in france. -

Okay i am totally chicken mum when it comes to hot stuff - iron, boiling water etc. I have seen what they can do to tender young skin and my stomach just flip flop when i see them near these things. I guess i don't even totally trust myself handling all these things. Ds1 only started ironing when he is taller than me (but not often lah).

my stove is built low…which is just wonderful because even daughter can see what’s cooking.
when frying, the arms don’t get tired easily.
if need hot water, 1 minute in the microwave oven. never boiled water in kettle since switching to filter.
for household chores, daughter knows how to fold clothes the way i want it…they are good at handling air fryer when they want a snack, so i buy chicken nuggets/popcorn, honey wings & fries to put in the freezer. -

i dont remember teaching dd1 ironing. i usually iron while she is still sleeping or doing other things..think she should have asked me how to turn on the iron and then i told her not to leave the iron on the uniform for too long so as not to leave burn marks and also iron the uniform terbalik as sometimes when iron is too hot will leave uneven color on the suface of ironed clothes.. also to leave the iron resting on the table so that it wont drop so easily..iron board can be quite wobbly. she makes coffee for me and she cooked noodles using stove when i was too busy. she wili come and asked me la.. like this or like that arh..I usually tell her what to watch out for..think i m letting off my guard too much alsoMrsKiasu:
