Any parent recd call from child after paper 1? How was paper 1's lvl of difficulty? Thanks

      hi taobaby,
don't mind me saying. won't you be more worried and stressed if the child tells you the paper is tough?

If it was easy, it is likely that paper 2 is tough. Just my thought.

Err... how about instead of soccer jersey the child wrote soccer shirt, will penalise?

Frankly speaking, I think may or may not, bc the contents & language play a big part on the whole compo's mark. The 'shirt' & 'jersey' is just a word used, which sound better. I reckon the PSLE marker will read the whole compo as a whole. Even if the child able to use 'jersey' but the whole compo had lots of grammar & spelling mistakes, I bet this child will score lower than another child who was able to write beautifullly but only did not write the word 'jersey'.

Another impt thing to note is Compo is a very subjective one. Anyway they will be 2 markers to read the child's compo. So we wouldn't know for sure if it will penalize more or less. At the end of the day, it still depends the 2 markers want to give more or less mark.

        So.....don't dwell too much.....

marking will be moderated according to the cohort results. don't worry nor think too much. it will show and the child will lose motivation to go on.

Yes, I know and we all know. My dd doesn't know I'm checking on this page & I nv show it to her that I'm worried (but in actual fact, I am).

then you are going to stress yourself for the rest of the PSLE exams.
i avoided PSLE threads when my kids were taking their PSLE...can't avoid to get more stressed. sometimes, not knowing is indeed bliss.

If it was easy, it is likely that paper 2 is tough. Just my thought.[/quote]Lol! ! My dd not so hardworking to call me during the break to announce if the paper was a piece of cake or difficult. AND I rather her to relax her mind for the next 1 hr break to prep for paper 2. But usually the kids they themselves will discuss among one another after each paper to reaffirm their answers, rather than call parents to complaint that the paper was difficult. Coz most of the time, call parents usually add stress to them even more.

Imagine if yr DC said the paper was difficult, what would you answer? You will definitely screamed:\"huh?? Difficult for paper 1? Chiam liao lah! Paper 1 difficult to you, then Paper 2 no hope liao lah!!\" Then wat will your DC felt after you said to this!? -- No mood to carry on liao lor. ...since my mummy said I die, sure die liao lah!\" 😓 Cannot concentrate for the next paper already.

So no point call in between the breaks just to assure you the paper is easy or not. Even if the paper is easy, most of the times a child can lose marks to careless mistakes, rite?

At the end of the day, tell yourself:\"Wat's done cannot be undone.\" We can only pray for the best.^-^

every child is different. with both my kids, i was equally stressed when they sat for psle, especially for 2nd one who is academically weaker. i had bald patch on the same spot on my head twice....i dare not even visit the PSLE threads at all. i just tell myself to move on. no point asking. after daughter's first paper yesterday (she is in sec 1), i just told her to move on and not dwell on what's over. hubby asked me. i told him it's over...don't ask.
