We're a family living overseas now and my kids are in Int'l schools. Eldest will be finishing his IB diploma in 2yrs' time and we want to find out how well accepted is it in local unis. I believe the first few batches of IB students from the local schools would have graduated already. Could anyone here, be it student or parent, please share how's the acceptance rate and requirements by the local unis?

      :thankyou:

Hi Kiwi68 and dear other parents, I know this is an old thread, but I am in the same shoes you were then. My eldest graduating with her IB diploma next year. Predicted score 40. What is her chances of getting to NUS, NTU or SMU with that score for Engineering or Maths/Science degree. Any possibility of getting scholarship ? Many thanks in advance.

Found some old data from ACS(I), slide 64-65

40 is quite a good score which should get her into many courses (assuming she satisfied whatever course requirement). But scholarship wise, based on 40 points is probably not enough for NUS, provided she has an excellent non-acad record. But NTU scholarships are a lot easier to get. SMU scholarship is dependent on the course you take. External organisation scholarship is another matter.

            Reviving this thread.

For those that were admitted to local universities with IB scores, can share
Your score / Which Uni / Which Course

Any data on min IB scores for course selected?

Will be good to hear from ex IB students as well how they are doing in unis. With their multi broad based disciplinary training, did that give them an edge or is a steep learning curve on subjects as A drills more in depth.
