So is CIP hours done on a yearly basis or 3 yrs combined? : 🤷

CIP is now called VIA (Values in Action) - changed name, same thing. Unless the rules have changed since my daughter's time, there is a minimum no. for each year (6 hrs), and it's for 4 yrs, not 3. The total is the no. of hours over the 4 yrs. Most students will try to clock more hours in the first 3 yrs.

My DS has been doing volunteer work since after sec 4 and throughout this year out of the poly. So he has clocked many hours but not sure what to do.

Check with the poly - best place to start is the one-stop-centre or student services or whatever it's called in the different polys. Not everything can be counted though, and he will probably need documentary proof. The various polys may do things differently.

Does it make any difference if DS clock min CIP hours or he has lots more hours?

i am not sure about those hours...son only clocks up hours during holidays. it's only been 6 months since he started poly, so i don't think he has many hours/points. he did tell me some classmates took up several CCAs to clock up points.

CCAs get points too? My DS is very blur one. He does regular volunteer word but that's it.no clue what to do with his CIP hours :frustrated:

honestly, i haven’t been keeping tab what those points are…what i do keep tab is making sure he doesn’t mix with the wrong company and setting my expectations.

he will be going to old age home tomorrow for 2 hours of charity work.
