take care Janet.these men are so insensitive when we are sick...BUT when mine here is sick, he behaves like a baby.
each time he has a review at SNEC, i am like a mother bringing a child to see the doctor.
i got fed up and told him off. when we are unwell, it doesn't seem to affect him...but when he needs to see a doctor or unwell, he behaves like a baby
or else he will tell me to see a doctor. i told him what i need is rest & don't need to see a doctor because i have medication for just about every ailment in the fridge. i was still thinking what medicine to take as i was still unwell at 3am. -
janet88:
Have more rest. My lessons are starting soon. Talk to u again later.
i am feeling better now. just ate 1 slice of bread with jam or i will get gastric. it was round the clock medication yesterday.TheAnswer:
Oh no!! I hope u guys are much better now.
I better appreciate my hubby. Feels a bit guilty now. -

哦, 不是慢三拍。是慢三天。 :faint:Some men are just like that.
I can tell DH so many times that kids are not well. At night before bed I will tell him hear DD or DS coughing. And he will tell me ok or yah. Then suddenly a few days later he will ask me DS sick ah? Have you brought him to the doctor? .
And Funz dear is super efficient some more... i think there is a yin-yang balance of sort here... -
Ladies,
After reading about the insensitive of the men did it ever cross your mind that if now our hubby did not even bothered to accompany us to see doctor or not even bothered if we are sick then what happens when we are old ? So, we can only rely on our children ? I thought our spouse are supposed to be the closest to us and we should accompany one another to the doctor ? Or maybe I am too naive to think this way ? -

I know he does care. Just that various incidents have shown me that he will not be one that I can fully lean on in times of illness as he will crumple. He does not nag, he hurls blame and he will make it clear to kids that he is in a foul mood because I am unwell. So a lot of times, even when I am unwell, I prefer him not to be around. When he is around, I am not only unwell but stressed &
he 心疼 you , getting irritated and angry is their way of showing They care ..Funz:

He gets angry with me if I am unwell. He says it stresses him up. Blames me for not taking care of myself. Blame it on my not taking supplements regularly. Then get even more irritated with me because I refuse to see the doctor for common cold.
So basically, I know, I cannot really depend on this man in times of sickness.
my mum has this type of character , n will nag at us.
we know she cares , but can be a real \"pain\" and \" irritating\" to the recipient ' , not that we want & like to fall sick lei
Funz, I can \"feel\" you  -
Funz:
totally agree.

Yah boy.
That's DH loh. Most of the time here but not here. I am also not the kind to repeat myself so between the 2 of us, there have been many 'I told you' and 'You did not tell me'. -
when the kids are unwell, the first thing he will say, 'see doctor'. :slapshead:
for minor ailments, i will give them medication unless they are still down for 2 days. usually they will be bouncing around after 1 good night of rest, unless there is a bad flu bug going around.
kids are so big now...unless they are toddlers, then there is cause for worry. both of them have a little medicine kit in their bags....for daughter, i always remind her 1 paracetamol (for kids) every 6 hours.
son has medicine for sore throat, body/headache & charcoal (in case he has diarrhoea and also for wind). -

Ideally, yes, our spouse should be the one that we lean on in times of need. Unfortunately, not everyone have a spouse whom they can fully lean on.Ladies,

Aunt passed away recently after a year of battle with cancer. Uncle was there with her but it was clear that she could not fully lean on him. He was quite lost and in fact, aunt ended up worrying more for him than for herself. They are childless so we nieces form a tag team to support them. Uncle said he does not know what he is going to do when she goes. Now that she is gone, we are helping him pick up the pieces.
Basically, I believe that the extended family bond is just as important as the nucleus family bond. To lean fully on only 1 person also puts a lot of stress on that person. -

Personally I like to go to the doctor alone.
In term of reliance - sorry, to me, there is no security like money in the bank.
