        :hugs:

Hi, there... big hug for you, because I understand how it feels.
If you check with the school and believe that teachers are kind, other kids are okay, no parents complaining.... I think it's \"normal\" for your girl crying at school. My boy cried almost everyday for months when he was in kindergarten, he cried on the way to school, he also cried at school (he said he's scared because teacher so BIG; he doesn't like the food; no one share toys with him; he doesn't like the boring worksheets etc. etc. etc.). I was miserable and feeling guilty too. Be strong, I believe she will out-grown the crying habit soon...

Yes, same school, actually it's a CC. The principal and teachers were nice and helpful, and I think the school was not the problem. MONTHS, I tell you, I even cried a few times outside the centre after sending him. Silly me. Can't remember exactly how long, but on and off more than 6 months, I'm sure. It won't stop overnight, be patience... Good luck.

              Hi,

My daughter is 4 years old (N2) and has been crying at dropoff for almost 2 years. Sometimes, she would cry in class during lessontime too. Each time I asked her why, she would tell me it’s because she’s terrified of making mistakes and of not being able to do things "perfectly".

Perhaps your child cries during classtime for a similar reason?

I was so worried about my child I brought her to KK to be assessed; I was concerned there were some development issues involved. However, the dr felt she was normal developmentally, no autism, just that she tends to be very sensitive and anxious. My child was then referred to a psychologist for her anxiety.

Hang in there, and I really hope the situation improves, I know how tough and heartbreaking it is for you.

My gal got this habit ever since she into preschool, even till now at p4, she will avoid school in morning when dropping her, school counselor oso dunno wats wrong. But as parents, we have to be firm and keep emphasizing school is impt n fun to be in. Every day, I have to be vigilant in observing her behavior, if she shows symptoms of reluctant to go school, will talk to her n encourage her to attend school.

She even envy her sec 1 bro who had started his holidays. Complaining n complaining, I have to make her see tat sec life n pri life is vast apart. Hopefully she be able to accept it well n grow out of this crying habits.

Take him for a ride alone and ask him if there’s something bothering him. He may feel pressure to perform. School is scary when you have had the safety of home, and now thrown in with a bunch of kids, some smarter, some not so.

I think the mention of friend helps.. I try to make school fun for my girl by saying that she will be doing things with her friend. Then when she comes home, I will ask her about the activity with her friend. And she will usually tell me what happened and laugh about it. Try this, I think it helps! 😄

                      Hi Mummy Highheels

How's your girl going? I've joined this forum recently, thus I only get to see this message now.

I would believe is developing normally, just that she is lack of confidence which can be tackled with some development program. Subsequently, areas like attention, concentration, socialisation, listening, articulation, problem solving will be built up.

If you would like to know more, you can always PM me. 🙂
