This year’s P1 registration will be ‘interesting’, since S’poreans are entitled to 2 balloting votes starting from this year. For popular schools in neighbourhood estates, I wonder if this ‘2 votes’ policy work better for S’poreans.

Just wanna check, if by end June, one still have not manage to clock the minimum 40hrs (maybe about 30plus hrs), is the person still eligible for the Phase 2C PV balloting? If it is Yes/No, does this appply to all schools or dependable on individual school?

Phase 2C is open to all, no PV is required. If one has clocked the 40 hours, they move up to an earlier phase (2B).

Under 2C, (actually 2B also the same), distance is key. Spaces are given based on distance - balloting ONLY if there are more applicants than spaces in that DISTANCE category.

Thanks for replying, and I'm sorry for the error as I meant Phase 2B. Will this person still be eligiable for the Phase 2B (under the PV scheme) selection? Thanks

Technically speaking, you would not be able to qualify under 2B if u fail to complete the minimum 40 hours stipulated by the school. In fact some schools stipulate 80 hours as the minimum requirement!

The school will issue out letters to those parents who completed the 40 hours prior to 2B registration. But if u are only a few hours short of the requirement, I guess u can liase with that specific school to negotiate something??

Last year was July 13/14 for 2A2 and July 20/21 for 2B...both on Mon and Tues.

This year July 15/16, 22/23 falls on Thurs and Fri...wonder why change? Nervous parents are not going to enjoy their weekends....

                  BigDevil,

                  I didn’t see the calendar yet…didn’t realize Phase 2A2 is on Thur/Fri.
Wonder why dates are changed to Thur & Fri…it will be a torture for parents esp those in Phase 2B onwards (hopefully 2C registration won’t be on Thur & Fri as well).

During my year of registration in 2008, phase 2B was on Thur and Fri too. Luckily we could enjoy the weekend coz it was confirmed there was no balloting required by Fri

Any Idea for phase 2C :?

I guess 2C registration should be about 2-3 days after confirmation of 2B...ie late July. It's always the most stressful time for all parents whose kids fall under this phase.

                        Hi everybody

I’m a new mom in this topic, did anybody can help give me some
                        suggestion?
I going to move house in this September ,2010. so I plan to let
my DD to get in Gongshang as I my new flat is less than 1km from the school. My DD born in 2005. Since Dec last year 2009 I already submitted
PV form at Red Swastika cause which more than 2 km away from my currently flat. If I want to do the PV for Gongshang then I need to cancel the PV at Red Swastika? BTW the school have not call me to do the PV.

                        Thanks
                        Barbie
