        fable:

I have to say I agree. The great majority of kids who enter an IP school or JC via DSA Sport struggle badly and end up repeating / switching to O levels or doing badly. Yes, there are exceptions that do well, but to me, its kinda dangerous to plan on being an exception.
This is an unfair statement. DS has more DSA Sports friends that are doing fine than those who are doing badly. We looked at the year book and identified DSA Sports boys so our assessment is quite accurate for DS’s batch in his school.

Having said that, around 14 out of 18 in his batch’s O level class are unfortunately from DSA Sports.

You are right - its not my place to generalise. What I meant to say, or should have said was \"The great majority of the kids I personally know who entered an IP school or JC via DSA Sport struggle badly.\"

This is how I would evaluate it for my son. If he is doing well in school and I think he has a good chance of scoring close to or about the qualifying Tscore of the school, and if he enjoys the sport and would be happy to do it for the next 6 years, and from my knowledge of my child, he will be able to handle the increased workload of Secondary school and balance that with his sport, AND he wants to go to the school, then ok, DSA via Sport. And I do know kids that that - they're doing pretty well academically and their sports is outstanding.

I have been thinking - any students who DSA via sports, who managed to stop the particular sports becoz of injury - & yet able to continue stay in that IP school? Or worst case scenario is to exit to another school? Anybody know or heard anything before if have such cases?

Yes. I have heard a case where a DSA Sports student was offered to stop the sports because of injury and allowed to stay in the school (IP).
