Cedar Girls Secondary School

hi Scotia,Mumflower:
personally i feel that parent cant do much when kids are in secondary school level and they are so busy in school activities & tests. Unlike in Primary school we still can hands on. so maybe thats why this chat room is very quiet loh. :imanangel:
Hi Mumflower, is your DC in cedar? i can understand to let them be independent in Sec..... but still it's good to have a active chat, where parents liked me would like to share info, tips, clarify doubts, support and encourage one another!
Hopefully, new batch of 2018 parents(and earlier batches too) can participate more actively in this chat
Yes, my girl is sec 3 this year, going to sec4. so far so good, she enjoyed school days ( although some days can be quite stress for study or peers relationship) but she is able to manage it quite well. overall, cedar students are quite sensible.
sorry i cant really help much on certain info/details.

hi does anyone knows how to get to cedar girls by the shortest route from admiralty thankyou!!
I used to stay in Sembawang and my daughter studies in Cedar Girls. After trying a few alternatives, the best is to take mrt to Ang Mo Kio. And from there, take bus 135. -

I remember the principal saying there is a possibility to transfer from O level to IP midstream. Any one know the criteria for this transfer? Keen to transfer to IP
There is a possibility, whereby you will be given a letter of admission into the Victoria-Cedar Alliance IP (Year 3) programme at the end of Sec 2.
Criteria:
1. Daughter must be top 20% among O-level cohort (top 29 students, varies with intake per year)
2. She must be able to pass the interview
3. She must bear in mind that should she accept the offer, she has to go to VJC and cannot drop out of the IP programme
Do understand that at the end of Year 4, all IP students have to take an entrance exam to ensure that they are able to cope with the workload when they move on to VJC:) -
Seriously contemplating Cedar as a 1st choice. Any current parents or students can list down the pros and cons of this school?

Iβve been out of touch with Cedar GIrls for quite some time. Last heard many experienced and good teachers have left / are leaving. Anyone can confirm this? Itβs such a pity the track is gone too.

Old one gone, new one come, but standard still same same.
There was a home coming held recently. Any Cedarians went back home? -

Hi, newbie mama here. Seriously contemplating CGSS for DD. The only problem is the daily commuting for her to take. We staying at CCK, about 10 mins bus ride to the nearest MRT. We calculated her daily traveling will be minimum of 1.5hr. She needs to catch the 1st bus in the morning. This will be her life for the next 4-6 years. As for past 6 years, she only need to walk 5 mins to school. Iβm afraid the daily traveling is too taxing on her.
