MSHS Open House - 25 November 8am-12pm
-
Hi all, I have a question that has been bothering me for a while.
Why is the open house for some schools (usually the top ones) in May and the rest in Nov? Are the open house in May specifically for DSA and those for in Nov real open house to understand the school? And if so, does the top schools have a similar open house in Nov period?
Greatly appreciate any parents can shed some light. Thank you!

You are probably right, the top schools go for DSA in April/May while others would cater to the rest after PSLE ... a few of the IP schools does have some form of open house in Oct/Nov (Cedar, Catholic High, MGS, River Valley, SJI)Hi all, I have a question that has been bothering me for a while.

I think the Open House that is held in the earlier part of the year is partly for students who are thinking of trying for DSA, but also generally for students who are trying to decide which school they are interested in being part of. Hopefully this will translate to motivation in studying for the big exam. The open house / information sessions that are held (also by most schools I think - I see that HCI and RI have them too) are for students (and their parents) who have obtained their marks and therefore know what schools they qualify for and who are trying to decide which school to apply to. I'd imagine both sets of students are important to the schools. And also that the Nov sessions will be smaller because they cater to students who perform within particular qualifying bands, and students with COs wouldn't need to go.Hi all, I have a question that has been bothering me for a while.

Write in to sch bah if u want. Open houses are strictly the school's own matters. U complaint MOE they at most send out advisory only they don't have the power to force schools to change open house dates coz its not their responsibility to do so.I wan to write to minister.

Every school do their programmes differently, and sometimes its due to their admin and their curriculum requirements (e.g. extra lessons, sch trips etc ). So its best to feedback to the school directly. -

Because Open Houses are organized and run by students. School holidays start on 18 November. The students will not be around to run the Open Houses.I wan to write to minister.
