Is it correct that TJC increased its enrolment to 170 (from 150) this year? What’s the class size?

Yes, this was shared by the P during the registration talk on 22 Dec. It used to be 30 per class previously so I suppose it would be 34 per class unless they introduce a 6th class. -
Thanks. Did the P share the reason for the increase?

I think she vaguely mentioned something about requests from parents but did not elaborate. I stand to be corrected though.

Hi!
I need some advice on the following topic, and was hopping to attain some here.
My child has gotten a confirmed offer from School Of The Arts and Temasek Junior College.
We were scouring through websites, trying to get a brief idea on which school will be better for her, but to apparently no avail.
I would like your personal opinion on which school is better and why.
Personal opinion is greatly valued.
Thank you.
:thankyou: -
Hi,
I’ve no information about SOTA but may offer you something about TJC.
My girl is in IP 1 of TJC with her PSLE score. She’s quite happy about the school there. There’s not too much of stress given particularly for first 2 years, which allow the students to adjust themselves from primary school. The philosophy of the school is just like a little kampung that emphasizes a lot of care and helping each other, and the teachers are mostly very responsible. Unlike some elite schools that emphasizes too much of school work, tests, examinations, TJC is more relax and easy, allow the students to work on their pace. -
Hi,
I like to find out more about the subject combination selection in year 2 & JC1, and the sports CCAs.
(1) In year 2 and JC1, are the students allowed to choose any subject combinations or there are pre-determined ones? What are the subject combinations for year 2 and JC1?
(2) In year 3, how many students can take triple Science (Pure Bio + Chem + Physics)?
(3) TJC offers only Pure Science?
(4) In JC1, triple science or double maths double maths is not offered?
(5) For sports CCA, can anyone join or only those in the school team can join?
Thank you!
