Hi Blurbee,Singapore Book Fair 2010 (formerly known as World Book Fair)
Date: 28May - 6Jun
Venue: Suntec Singapore, Exhibition Halls 402-404 (Level 4)
http://www.bookfair.com.sg/home.htm
For this bookfair, are the books sold here from independent book shop owners or from shops like borders etc, I remember going to Singapore Bookfairs when I was young (eons ago) haha but there was a wide variety then, how is it now, how is it different from a bookfair like MPH?
TIA -

This fair is more from independent book shops but Times/MPH may be there. Agree with blurbee that the main attraction for me will be those chinese books from co like maha yuyi etc. English books not as many (cannot compare to MPH sale) - but you may be surprised. there was a year where a shop (can't recall name) sold Magic Schoolbus series on the cheap (about $4 a book I think). Some vendors selling educational toys. Also expect to see those vendors hawking readers, and probably some 'dunno why they are there' vendors. -
MPH is having another sale end of June. I think they do this every quarter, but I’m just recovering from my last buy - so a bit shocked to see this. Hopefully nearer to the sale, they will post good value vouchers again.

Tks hquek for all of your info. I dun think i will go for this coming mph sale, i can foresee my DH eyeballs will roll and we have not finish reading the lot bought from the recent sale.
its a bit disappointing to see both the singapore book fair and popular sales fall on the same weekend, i will have to give it a miss since we cant mk it. :x Im actually looking around for some assessment n guidebooks, thought i can get it during popular sale. Luckily i can still make use of my 20% voucher in pop club.
During last year singapore book fair, some exhibitors were actually publishers and they did have good lobang for cheap assessment bk(30% cheaper than popular nett price), though not all the titles found in popular. -
Just went to world bookfair website to see the list of exhibitors. I see Casco, Maha yuyi…so there should be some assessment books on sale there.
Just wondering how the prices will pan out. -
Hi hqueck and blurbee,
thanks a million! Btw I have a good site to reccomend if you are interested to know about the latest books and how to teach vocab and creative writing, join twitter and follow The Alternative Story, their account name is TAlternativeS
They will post the latest books and also phrases from the books for creative writing and easy ways to remember vocabulary..

Hi mintech,
Very interesting to me.
How exactly to do it?
thanks -
Hi Charmaine,
First you need to go to Twitter.com and sign up to have an account.
After that, when you come to your home page, on the right hand side of the home page, there is a search box, you can type in TAlternativeS, the 'T', 'A' and 'S' are all in capital letters, the rest are in small letters and then you can follow them, once you follow them, you will receive all their tweets about learning. You can also have twitter on your phone, so you can see the tweets(posts) on your phone as well- you can find out more about how to have Twitter on your phone when you go to Twitter.com
I feel like I am advertising for Twitter as well!
