Hi Parents,
What does co-located means? Are they kindergartens that are within the premise of the Primary Schools?
Besides the few that they mentioned did they indicate in the future which primary schools will be affected and when?
Don't like the uncertainty...! especially when the current process is already stressful enough for kiasu parents...

Yes I think that’s what it means. Either same campus or just next door.

For future prediction, I predict they will build co-located MOE K inside those government primary schools that have falling enrollment. Eg u live in Clementi, probably Pei Tong Primary. They won’t add more demand to already popular schools. U can also eliminate mission schools or clan-associated schools. Govt has almost zero say over those.

We are new SCs and my boy was born in Dec 2013. We plan to buy a house in the west either at Clementi/Upper Bukit Timah/Dover area, so the location is still flexible. Taking consideration of the so many options of schools, we get completely confused which school area we should select. Can anyone help to suggest the strategy how should we select the school in this case? Thanks a ton.

I see in your profile you have a newborn girl. To simply things, just limit your choices to co-ed schools.

Next, are you religious? If you don’t want your kids to be in religious environment, then eliminate the Christian & Buddhist schools.

Does your family speak Chinese at home? If not, simply eliminate the SAP schools.

That should leave you with a shorter list. If you need help about the culture of a specific school(s) that you’ve narrowly down to, just ask on the forum, somebody will be able to help.

Just wondering if it a good strategy to try the luck for balloting at 2C stage, if we live <1km. And if unsuccess, to go for Bukit Timah Primary School. Is BTPS a good backup option? Then hopefully, my boy can perform well in the following years and gets a chance to shift to other better school afterward.

Yes that’s quite a good strategy. And yes BTPS is a good backup option. It was my own backup option during DS’ time.

My friend’s child is at BTPS, she told me the class size is much smaller than 30, and the teachers can spend more attention on each child. It is quite a holistic school and allows the kids room to develop at their own pace.

that was our plan back then...if son didn't get into pei hwa (he is a Year 2000 dragon kid), we will register him in bukit timah primary. pei hwa being a SAP school has equal emphasis on english and higher MT from p1.

Any recommendations for AMK primary schools? We will be moving into AMK… was looking at Anderson Pri and Mayflower Pri… Any feedback or advise for these two schools?

And how does this PV works? Does it mean if the school accept you as PV, it means you can get it, or there is still chance that the school reject you after all the 40hrs paid off?

hello all, checking in here too. Our daughter is a 2013 baby and will be part of the 2020 in-take.


We stay around Serangoon and are hoping to enrol her into PLMGS Primary. We have applied for the PV, but are worried about the rumours that PLMGS only take in homemakers as PVs. Would anyone know if this is true please?
