Dear Experts i need some help on my upcming Tokyo trip. Is my first trip as a family of 3 with my girl turing 3 this march 18.
She wanted to go see Mickey and Minnie so we decided Tokyo as our destination. As is my first time trip, i am abit worried if my itineary works anot. I am scare that it will be too rush. And with the moving of luggage to another hotel will it be too troublesome since we be having two large luggage, 1 cabin size lugggae , a light weight stroller and a 15 kg tollder who might to be carry if she is tired from walking. Hence appreciate if you can provide me some inputs. Thanks.
Day 1 - Arrive in Tokyo near to evening time.
Just roam aroud in Shinjuku, Shibuya and/or Harajuku area for some cheap shopping and street food
Day 2 - Visit Tokyo City Dome (To tired my girl so we can do shopping when she nap)
\t Ginza - Shopping
Day 3 - Rent a car and self drive to Mother Farm + Tokyo German Village if got the time
Day 4 - Rent a car and self drive to Gunma Safari Park (Gunma Prefecture)
*I check google map and it show that the driving is almost 2hrs. Not sure if this is consider super far. Wiorth to just drive there and back again?
Day 5 - Asakusa - Temple and shopping
\t Sensiji
\t Tokyo Skytree (Will try to visit near dusk time)
Day 6 - Free shuttle bus to Disney land
Day 7 - Free shuttle bus to Disney sea
Day 8 - Free shuttle bus to MT Fuji
Lake Kawaguchiko resort area
Thomas Land
*Plan to do one night overstay at Slow Hotel. My plan is to lug the luggage just for one night stay and leave the rest at the hotel conceirge and take the free shuttle bus to MT Fuji then check in Slow HOtel first. Then proceed to the place i wanna go.
Day 9 - Check out from slow hotel and take free shuttle bus back to Tokyo
Day 10 - ????
Day 11 - Fly back from Henada airport
Also i am considering SQ, JAL and ANA. Anyone know which arlines has the most leg room space. When i research it say JAL wor. Not sure if this is true.
I be staying at Keio hotel as they providing free shuttle bus to Disney and MT Fuji so i thought i might save on the transport thou i pay abit higher for the hotel. Is it worth it? :scratchhead: :scratchhead: :thankyou: -

Looks like a great and feasible plan! Would suggest staying at Mt Fuji area for one more day and return to Tokyo on 10th day instead. Alternatively, you can visit Yokohama (famous for Instant Noodles Museum and Cosmo Theme Park) or Odaiba (famous for its mall and onsen) on the 10th day. Have fun!Dear Experts i need some help on my upcming Tokyo trip. Is my first trip as a family of 3 with my girl turing 3 this march 18.

Estéema:
Thanks Esteema! Will pay a visit to Tg Pagar JR counter when I'm free. I just redeemed my SQ miles to KIX and booked my Osaka hotel.Zeit:
Esteema
You were not allowed to take Nozomi & Mizuho trains, right? If you had taken Hikari (2nd fastest Shinkansen), it'd have been 3h 10-15 min. Had you hopped onto Kodama Shinkansen, it'd be even longer.
Osaka to Nagoya is slightly over an hr (70-80min, depending on departure timing or u]depending on whether your hotel is in Shin-Osaka or Osaka (Umeda downtown)[/u]). The Shin Osaka-Osaka journey itself is 3-4min but allow for 10min to transfer to another platform within the JR station, if need be.
My Pillow
Please use HyperDia to search for your preferred departure timings, and remember to de-select NOZOMI/MIZUHO and Private Railway. Keep others checked.
If still very confused, please go to Tg Pagar Japan Rail counter (there's a nice Jap cafe there) to consult the staff, like Esteema did
Zeit,
Don't rmbr taking 3-hr rides coz we usually book our JR seats for super-fast trains. Not the fast or normal trains. Maybe u're referring to the normal train.
Whenever to traverse fr Osaka thro Tokyo to Hakone, we'll take JR. Local train don't bring us cross diff cities. Shinkansen operates within localities. Within Tokyo, we take the local subways. Similarly for Kyoto we take the subway to get fr one scenic spot to ano.
Pre-planning with Hyperdia is a good idea. However, you've got to be very thorough & then print your planned journey out. If I don't rmbr wrongly, u can't get access whilst in Japan. Correct me if I'm wrong. That's why we chuck our printout fr Hyperdia coz we're also the go-with-the-flow type & when on the ground, we just explore deeper into an area if it attracts us more. DH is a gadget buff & I explore all their electronics & kitchen/household stuff. Kids go either with me or DH. Then when in Nagoya, we found Toyota hv 2 diff museums besides other tourist spots. DH & kids wants the Innovation museum but we didn't book to go, hence we made extra trips forgoing pre-planned Castle visits, etc.
We found JR Pass very useful in that we didn't hv to fork out extra :moneyflies: to travel btwn cities and the forgiving part when we stay longer at some other scenic spots & missed our pre-booked seats, we just book again without penalty or extra-charges.
I find train staff always try their best & very helpful tho not all can communicate in English. Just ask them directions showing map for your intended tourists spots or hotel name.
Save up on JR valid travel days for crossing cities & leave last day for airport limousine. Convenient, inexpensive & luggage rolled into the bus compartments for you & u get on air-con bus without need to hold on to yr luggages. -
Good for you! Do leave luggage space for shopping. The Kit Kats there are exceptional. I love the Matcha green tea flavor as well as their Almond nuts Kit Kats. Enjoy your Kuromon sushi & snacks! Hope not too cold for u now

Hi everyone at KSP,
I’m trying to plan my first trip to Japan and have come to a conclusion that it’s going to be a 10 to 12 days trip and happening only in October, probably last weekend of October. Cities that I would like to bring my family (2 adults and 2 teenagers) to are Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.
I’ve yet to book the airtickets cos still waiting for airline promotions. Anyone has any idea what’s the range of prices that I should be looking for such as flying to Tokyo or Osaka? I’m not sure what’s the average price and promotion price of such ticket. Airlines should be either SQ or JAL. Should it be Sin-Tokyo-Sin or Sin-Tokyo then fly back to Sin from Osaka? Worried there might be no promotion for open jaw tickets.
Hope those who’s frequent flyers to Japan can help me with the above questions, thanks! -
Not a frequent flyer. Just happen to come across these info as I plan for my hols.
ANA is having domestic tic promotion @ ¥10,800 per sector. To purchase, you need to book your international sector first as the domestic promo reservation requires your international flight details. See ANA website for more details.
If you r flying into Tokyo and out from Osaka or vice versa, you can consider the 7-day unlimited JR Hokuriku Arch Pass which is cheaper than the 7day Nation Wide Pass. See JR website for more details.

Happy New Year Everyone.
Just took the first step and book 14 night to tokyo in dec.
Paid about 2.7k for 2a 2c on JAL.
Open jaw ticket is about 500 more ex on SQ and KIX timing is not good. therefore just fly n leave from 1 city.
now time for planning and hotel.
