Took advantage of the hot Sun and washed bedsheets. Don’t know why the WM’s Spin function is not triggered. 😞

Can you go straight to the spin without going through the wash? You can try that and if it won't spin, then there may be something wrong with the spin function (as opposed to the program).

I chose the Spin and the screen showed 12min. It started working and the time started reducing until 8min. The WM was running but the time was at 8min. After waiting for a while, I stopped everything to take out the bedsheets. They are wet ie spinning not performed.
I read the manual and it said could be imbalance of laundry in the drum ???
Anyway, I have to wait till wkend to ask dh to find out though he is as clueless as me

Imbalance might be the problem. If you take the sheets out and open them up a bit, then put them back in, it might solve the problem. If the sheets are very bunched up the load will be imbalanced, and it will not be good for the spinning mechanism. Your machine may have a safety mechanism which stops the spin in such cases. Can try again?

I find that the imbalance issue tends to occur when I am spinning very few items, especially heavy items. Eg. after hand-washing woolly jumpers or jackets, I usually spin them gently for a few minutes so they aren't so heavy and drippy when I hang them up. Bedsheets and towels, if not washed in the same load as smaller items, also can give this problem. Full loads of smaller items are generally OK.

This load is indeed light; just a few pillowcases and a bedsheet
