How much is enough for retirement in Singapore?

i'm also thinking how much hubby and i can retire comfortably in singapore...no travel bug, so that should save a lot. health is a concern like knees and dental for eg. i would need to continue with my endocrinologist for life. housing wise, flat should be fully paid up. but i would like to enjoy sitting in a Lexus. told hubby if we downgrade to a 3 room flat...how about getting a luxurious car? :please:

Maybe get a cheap cheap Xiao San that can serve her purpose would do.

Now my hubby drives an Elantra, already told him after some years, we will downgrade to a small car to save cost and petrol.

but we are driving an affordable car now...after donkey years slaving, it would be great to have some luxury.
ok, my idea of a lexus is quite absurd since it will be parked outside...exposed to sun and rain.

If you have window grill in your kitchen or balcony, your can grow small plants or herbs like this using ikea containers...donch need tabletop space. Can also become your vertical garden

House is an asset. Car is a liability. After 10 years, the car practically has no value while your house most probably will increase in value. I agree with Starlight. It is not a good idea.

House is an asset when it is fully paid. Else it is still a liability with its daunting loan and interest.

A 10 years old car still has some value - the metal = scrap value ? :roll:

During retirement, we should aim for zero liabilities.

Most of the time, the soil will not be that dry that can be blown away so easily.
