Hi, my kid going p1 next year.... when do we need to register for a student care? after the school selection is confirmed is it? Need to find one near his school... but now still duno whether he will be able to get in that school yet ...

      Thanks ... i am clueless.

Are you in Phase 2C? If yes, you might want to start shopping around first. If I'm not wrong, there's a quota per level set by MSF/MOE...Could be max 15 students per level per BASC?

As you know, the siblings of current students would be able to \"chope\" a place at the BASC earlier than you. And those who clear their registration earlier in Phase 2A1/2A2 might foot their deposit earlier as well.

I suggest you be on standby after you've successfully secured a place in your choice primary school and go down to the BASC within the next couple of days to register. Call to check number of people registered to date.

Those nearer to the school will be highly sought after. Have a back up BASC near to your home. Also check with school bus driver if he plies that area in case the BASC is not within walking distance from your choice school and your DC needs to take the bus to get there.

In addition, check their afternoon programme, environment, tutor-student ratio, shower services, sleeping arrangement (boy girl segregation?), food quality, sanitation, ventilation, locker services, any proper nap time or must rest heads on the table, etc.

Important to check the demographics of each shortlisted BASC too. Majority of the students are from which schools? Your DC's school or some other neighbourhood schools? Boy-girl ratio. Some BASCs have more girls than boys. Go down to visit and see for yourself if the food looks nutritious. Some could be serving vegetarian food, others catered. Some cook their lunch in-house in HDB underground bomb shelters. Meanwhile, check if the students look naughty or well-behaved.

      Thanks!

I heard there’s a premium student care by Playfacto School opening at 55 Serangoon North Ave 4 #09-05. Is within walking distance from Rosyth School. Has anyone visited the place yet?

I am a mother of 2 boys who goes to full day childcare. I am also an ex-MOE primary school teacher. I can pick up your child from school and supervise him/her to complete their daily homework at my home before you pick them up after your work. Lunch and snacks are provided. No TV or screen time available. Home is based in Choa Chu Kang Ave 3. I will ensure that they follow a fixed schedule. Additional fees payable if you require tuition
