Hi Ongmum, coincidentally i just signed her back. Shes been there on and off since P1. ..I normally sign her back near the exam period cos of the practice papers she come up with, kind of exam based. I couldnt fit my grl into any of the available time slots this year and had to sign her elsewhere.

What level is yr child in? mine is in p4. If u dnt mind me asking , have u seen any improvement since yr child joined Ms Koh?

My child is in P6 this year. She attends Ms Koh’s class at the beginning of this year. Yes, I observed slight improvement but not much though. She likes attending Ms Koh's class. I wouldn’t expect a big jump based on the past 3 months, however, I hope she will continue to learn and excel under Ms Koh’s guidance.

Thinking of enrolling my P1 girl in the phonics class conducted by "Read In A Week " @ KRTC Ang Mo kio. Can anyone share with me about this school ?

The prog is not conducted by tutors of Kent Ridge. Kent Ridge lets out their premises for the lessons.


I sent my younger boy when he was in K2 for this prog @ Kent Ridge CCK. We did a 1-1, completed the prog in less than 3 mths.

Sent my boy to cck branch too, grp prog. Completed the whole program in abt 1-1yrs3mths. Provide solid background in phonics, no regrets. Dedicated teachers too… My son started at end of his nursery yr, can read quite well by end of k1. He’s in k2 now n stopped this pgm, currently in lcentral to prep him further for P1.

We stopped after completing Intermediate. Did not go into Advanced.

I highly recommend this course if the child has the urge to be able to start reading. We were assigned Mr Chan and had the lesson with the CCK branch. Btw Mr Chan is no longer with the centre.

My boy (now P3) has no prob learning spelling in school, now reading books meant for ages 10 to 12.

May I ask the reason why you intend to enrol your P1 girl? I would have assumed most children can read before they go into P1. You might want to talk directly to Ms Liza to find out the real needs of your girl. She would be able to give better recommendation of how to help your daughter. Just my 2cts.
