Not necessarily. There is still the 1%-9% which may not have scored AAA/A. Also AAA/A may not necessarily equate to UAS 90 as some may have not got As for GP and PW. And finally, for those courses with aptitude tests and interviews, the grades alone are not the only determining factor.
Look at NUS course and the indicative grade profile, 90 percentile is AAA/A .and 10th percentile is also AAA/A. DD cannot choose Law, medicine and Dentistry.jtoh:
Depends on what you intend to pursue at university. If it qualifies you for the course you want to pursue it's good enough. -
Kingal:
Did your dd want to pursue law, medicine or dentistry to begin with? Those three courses have typically been the domain of straight A students with a few with Bs getting in. Quite a few other courses also have their 10th percentile at AAA/A, such as some engineering, computing and pharmacy.

I agree with simkhoo. Now with a few local unis competing for students, there is definitely more flexibility in offering spots to applicants. Unlike during my era when there were only 2 local unis with some courses only offered in one of the unis eg law and accountancy.

There is no harm applying if your DD has a passion for some particular course, not just because it is a AAA/AA course.

Hi Kingal, biz ad is offered by NUS, NTU n SMU. The competition for students is high. There is a strong chance ur child will get a place. Like zeemimi said, the I in IGP is indicative. Go for it! And all the best!!

Is 3A2B with UAS of 86.5 consider good?
Actually quite good.
I think just that might not be good enough to get into Medicine, Law and Dentistry?
Anyone knows if for the abovementioned 3 courses, is it a must to score 90 for UAS?
Thanks. -
Anyone knows what is the mean/median UAP?

Good luck to ur girl.

No you don't need to have a perfect score to get into the above courses. But there's a minimum cut off score (which is rather high) before you get called for interview.Kingal:
