There are some videos which teaches both the children and parents to solve some of the P6 Maths papers. I believe they are 2016 questions. You may want to look through the videos so that we as parents can help to explain the answers as our children also watch them. Here’s the link:

I know of a teacher who specialises in helping students doing Foundation Maths (P5 and P6) or struggling very hard with Maths (P4 and below). Her methodology and resources are tailored to help these students understand and apply the concepts more easily. This teacher is also special needs trained so she also has experience working with students with moderate learning challenges. The teacher is also building up resources for this group of students as there is really limited resources in the market for them. Parents who are keen to get help for their kids in this area or wish to contribute and share resources (especially your child's school test/exam papers for Foundation Maths) can PM me or email: [email protected]. Disclaimer: I'm not the teacher, just sharing this info with parents as support for students taking Foundation subjects is limited and not easy to find.

Hi…I’m just wondering if any parents do this with their P5 and P6 children?

Do u sit down with them after major exams to calculate their T-score? And from that T-score, list out the secondary schools which they would qualify for (based on the historical COP)?

Is this strategy helpful for planning/discussion/motivation/improvement of marks over time?

I’m asking because my DS is still young. I don’t know if at that pre-teen age, he would be happy for me to have such a discussion with him. I know some primary schools have career talks for graduating students, but how about talks specific to managing PSLE stress & selection of secondary schools etc?

If your child is intent on joining a particular school, it would be useful to have a realistic gauge of the current level and which schools he/ she can enter. And it is good to know if there is a gap or a target to achieve the score required.

Some schools do have talks during DSA time & invite secondary schools to come in to talk to the students as well, so that is also helpful for selection of schools.
