I've not tried this Klook before, but I find the listed prices similar to those on Japanican. The latter is slightly more expensive by $1 - $2 per passenger. Japanican and Klook are day tour aggregators of sorts which basically promote/advertise for the same inbound travel agents in Japan, esp Sunrise (JTB's subsidiary).


However, I find that Japanican has more variety and more interesting combis. E.g. from Osaka or Kyoto or Tokyo to the same destination X, Or within Tokyo city, different pick-up districts (Shinjuku, Tokyo, Ikebukuro) to the same destination Y. One also has A & B combined tours, whereas you cannot find that listed on the other. Klook has several Kimono photo shoot packages, Romantic Train to Sagano packages, rickshaw packages, etc.

Are the Klook tourists mainly Hongkongers?

I'm not sure if I am charged based on the current prevailng forex rates if I book now, or should I time my booking when the forex is in our favour? :evil:

Japanican is like a local Japanese agent. Hence, you probably could find more options or combinations within Japanican, specific to Japan.

Klook charges are in SGD. Hence, I doubt there are huge changes unless there are big forex movements.

I thought they were organising all the tours, so I emailed them to enquire if I could get a refund for the Shinkansen ride included in one of the day tours because I will be getting my own JR Pass. They replied I had to read the Ts&Cs and footnotes of that particular tour myself, as they are not the day tour agent but only the online PLATFORM to publish products & services on private guides'/agents' behalf.

I think Klook is still showing up till Summer only. Some Winter schedules are out on Japanican already.

Tokyo is unusually warm.

prefecture is C-O-L-D.
the homestay is very peaceful and a good break from busy city life. I am waiting to see the bowl he made out of bamboo. the chopsticks were broken half way through the meal…but I am not surprised. it is a little scary living below a hill though…if it rains heavily, there might be erosion.
I don’t mind visiting japan. well, in Tokyo certain things are still expensive but it’s the HAPPENING place to be in. Nagoya is boring according to my boy. Japanese are very civic minded and super courteous. shinkasen is superb…the ride is fast but smooth. the 2 hours ride was a good time for all the kids to catch up on sleep.

If u’re chasing cherry blossom, u can still get to Hokkaido in May.

Will prefer to stay in shinjuku.

For ski resort, choices probably limited.
If I'm visiting my fuji(Thomas land) should I stay there as well? Or just a day trip there?
