Me Time!

You may be right to say am hard to myself
Each day I just keep myself as occupied as I can. When I have nothing much to do, I really don’t know what to do. -
Maybe you can think about what you have always been curious about or admire others for and explore that for a start?
But you seem really busy already. It is not a bad idea to take the backseat and just do nothing sometimes. -

Learn to enjoy the downtimes too, and don't feel guilty. No machine can work 100% of the time, and human bodies are not machines! Take up a quiet hobby for those times - sewing, crafts, reading, gardening? Or just walking in the park?Slmkhoo

I hope you are able to find a hobby. I know I will have a headache finding something to do when the empty nest syndrome happens. Since going for a holiday is difficult to plan, how about a staycation, pamper yourself or renovate your place? -

Lately i have been listening to parenting e books especially on days when the kids wont be home til late afternoon. I think it helps that the house won't be too quiet with the narrator going on in the background as I carry out my chores. While listening, I like to think back too on how many times we via trial and error, hit the parenting Jack pot and also how/when to take a step back on raising a more independent child. -
Starlight,
It takes time to get over.
Why not pick up a foreign language like Japanese? Or learn a new skill? My retired dad took up sewing recently to pass time.
Have you considered adopting a puppy? My parents and grandma were very upset when my brother first brought home a puppy. My grandma even shut her bedroom door. Over time, the doggie has won over their hearts and brought lots of joy to them when the old folks are alone at home. -
agree…start something of what you like to do now or what you would have like to do previously…taking something up is good…if comes with more ‘forced’ commitments like exam, the better… bring your focus away from current.

Maybe its good if you take some time to sit down by yourself and cry your heart out? Instead of keeping everything inside and making yourself busy to hide those feelings and avert the emotions?
I recall when the hospital called to inform me that my dad had a stroke in the ICU a few years back and his prognosis was no good, I sat in my children's bedroom alone by myself and cried my heart out. I still remember it was raining very heavily on that day and the thunderstorm drowned my wailing. After that I felt better and it became easier for me to move forward though it was still painful.
We all need to grieve in one way or another. It is painful but facing it and then moving on is to help ourselves in the healing process. JMHO and hope you find some way to heal yourself. Do take care. -
Tks all ladies for your precious advice.
I didn’t know I was hit such hard though the event is not unexpected
Well, life continues. I think it is still better for me to be occupied than to think wildly. -
ME TIME now. going to bake some muffins for tomorrow’s breakfast. Estimated time needed, 30mins.
The other day, DD1 insisted on baking a cake (with some help from me). That small cake needed one whole block of butter and 1 full cup of sugar. My goodness, cakes are so sinful!
The cake turned out pretty well, not too sweet. Can’t imagine how much sugar those cakes outside selling contain?
