      Hi Kogepanz,

I signed up at Lcentral Punggol Safra. I was entitled 10% off each kid. Same time i was given $30 off 1 time. Unless different branch different rules
      Hi Mummy,
That’s quite weird. I was told either 10% or the referral code. Are the fees different for different branches? I am paying $550 for one term in Woodlands. Was told for the branch in Safra, it’s 10% off every term instead of one time off.[/quote]

      Hi hi..
Lcentral Punggol Safra give 10% off term 1 and subsequent term 5 % off.. I was able to get $30 off 1 time referral at final bill together with 10% off when i registered. I signed weekday class - before discount is also $550, 10% off $51.40 ( discount applicable before gst).

            Hi Evetan80, 🙂

my sons also start their first class last week. started from launchpad book 3 as well. 🙂

            Evetan80:
My boys just attended their 1st class this week at Lcentral. i signed up for evening weekday class.
My 4 yo doing foundation and there are only 2 students \") --(wow, this is good. ^^ )

He was super happy and kept asking to attend english class everyday. My 6 yo started launchpad book 3 and there are about 10 students...
(i heard the max should be 8, not sure. but as long as kids learn happily and progressily, should be alright.:)
After the class, both teachers gave feedback about my kids which gave me more assurances. I was a bit concerned how the teacher can cope w 10 kids who are using 3 different workbook in same class..but didnt question much.
( i also feel same feeling, but i didnt question much as well, the first class lesson only done 1 page and few sight words, will it too slow?) XD
Teacher mentioned my 6 yo is good w phonics but need improvement on sign words n could move on Liftoff soon. (6 yo old was w mindchamp for 3 years and completed 12levels) - (heard mindchamp is very good in teaching phonics. ^^)
Hope he will be able to cope w pri 1 next year.
            - yeah !!
            :goodpost:

                Hi Evetan80,
                thanks for reply.
No wonder.. cause i saw other kids workbook so colorful, but my sons books look like photocopies XD.
to be honest, after 2 sessions of class, i found the progress consider slow. everytime after the end of the class, i asked DS how you find the class? He said very nice ( i guess because a lot of sticker and stamp). i further asked about what has been taught in class? he cannot remember, but i saw the workbook was marked but careless marking, example: maybe very obviously wrong but the teacher just tick. i point to the 'cross' and asked DS, did you know why it is wrong. MY DS said he dont know why because teacher never explain, and he was copying the answer of the gal besides him.
Wonder did anyone experience the same?
i know the learning is based on the kid's learning pace, ( but one session only done 1 page) consider really very slow, and without explanation.
arent they think without explanation , the kids can figure out themselves?
i am now considering whether asked to try another teacher class, not sure did they allow me to arrange like that or not.
                * i am not the type like to complain for small thing
                * however, if only companion kids to do homework without guidance and explanation, mights well i put them at home just doing homework??

                  Hi mummies

Just to share my experiences with Lcentral procedures… it was also my bad that i didn’t fully comprehend their full course system when my kid first signed up for launchpad book 3… i was told by front desk if teacher assess him well, he could be promoted to lift off without completing full term (11 lessons)

Lesson 1 - teacher commented boy was good w phonics. Once he master sign words, she is ready to let him move up.
During this time… i asked front desk again… so if my boy is ready to move to liftoff…he doesn’t have to complete the entire launchpad right? The reply was yes.

Lesson 3 - teacher told my hub that my boy knows his sign word…he is ready to move but no class available.
Hub came home to tell me the great news. Of coz i was overjoyed… call centre to ask for next procedure. front desk said will check n get back. Front desk called again to inform lift off is a structured program and only start new term. Advised that my boy should continue launchpad n wait for new term which is 8 more lessons to go?? I think that is wasting resources and time. Front desk said will check details with teacher. Next day another experienced front desk called. Explained that my hub misheard. Already checked w teacher ur boy is NOT ready. If he is ready, front desk will inform u and check for your preferred schedule. MY hub insisted i set up a meeting to get clarifications.

Lesson 4 - senior front desk person ,hub n me sat down. She explained company policy… they only assess n promote mid term or new term blah blah. Hub asked to see teacher. Senior front desk person went into room alone w teacher… then came out to invite us in… finally teacher apologised for confusion made - yes my boy is ready to move up. But she doesnt mean asking my boy to stop launchpad. She hopes he continues learning. Senior front desk reconfirmed w teacher that my boy is not ready right? I put in a assumption. If there is a new liftoff class now - can my boy enrol? Teacher said of course. GREAT. THAT is what i want to hear. We stepped out… asking for our options… so we wanna to defer or continue. Senior front desk suggested that we shouldnt break the learning momentum. 1) offer weekend liftoff class for my boy to join but he must do 4 makeup classes to catch up w existing class n pay the differences in weekend charges n extra classes…NO…bad option for us… 2) come back for last 4 launchpad classes to get him ready for liftoff. 3) defer n wait for new liftoff class. We took sometimes to consider… when class end. I informed my boy of my decision and told front desk - we will defer… what do we have to do?? She handed me a form… show me the liftoff book n said if ur boy cannot cope w liftoff, the teacher will make him repeat launchpad… then i replied… so let him stick to his existing teacher since she recommended the promotion. She replied… it depends on schedule n teacher availability… Finally when i signed the form…she added No withdrawal should be made. If you withdrawl… no refund. Okok… signed n went off. I m super exhausted … i guessed she too!

Asked my hub… is it my defer affect her commissions?? Or bonus?? Why is she so defensive against me… she let me went thru some rollercoaster… at that time when she went to a room w the teacher… i was thinking… haiz… game over… my hub will be angry when teacher deny n change statement… luckily teacher kept to her honour!!! Else we will withdraw 2 kids altogether…

I am thinking to enrol my 5 yr old son at Jurong East branch . But he is abit hard to concentrate. Not sure if it is suitable to join this kind of proper lesson. Any teacher to recommend?

I also shared your concern about only doing 1-2pages worksheet.. then ask DS too what did u do todae? Play 1 game.. i also have concern how the teacher can teach kids same time when they holding different books? Front desk assured that teacher is professional to ask different set of questions for different book. Which brought me to my next understanding.. for liftoff classes, students are w same workbook..

If your concern is the teacher..they are all very proactive...perhaps you can gather feedback from the teacher..n same time inform teacher that u are not comfortable that your DS was copying another child workbook which doesn't make sense.

                        Hi mummy
I used to worry my kids couldn't sit still for 1.5 to 2hours..but dont worry.. usually enrichment classes are very interactive and engaging. I feel at 5yo is good for him to try out.. otherwise when in primary school.. that will be my major concern..sitting down hours to learn different subject.. be super draining.

Also u know best when his energy level at highest. Dont enrol those 9am classes if he still sleepy.
