Has anyone genuinely lost their kid in a crowd before?

I remember \"losing\" DD1 when she was 7 at Tokyo Disneyland.
We were watching the night parade so the street lights were switched off. The only lights came from the parade itself. We didn't plan on watching the parade so we ended up standing quite far back. DD1 couldn't see clearly (too short lah) so she told me she wanted to go closer...and she was off! I tried looking for her immediately but I couldn't see very far ahead of me and people were everywhere. When the parade ended, it was pitch black and I started to seriously panic. Luckily, before the parade, I had bought her a battery-operated \"lantern\" and I remembered she left it on so I looked around for a green glow. Luckily, she found me cos I tried to stand in a not-so-dark spot. I think she was also a bit scared when she realised I wasn't with her so I took the opportunity to remind her not to run off like that ever again. -

We lost our 4yo son at Incheon airport in South Korea for about 10mins, just as we were trying to check in our luggage to fly home. It felt more like 10 hours to me.I 'nearly' lost one of my toddler twice... not once but twice.. and it really really.. scare the hxxx out of me...

when my dd was abt 3yrs old..one night my family went to compass pt metro. While I was looking for some items in the store, suddenly I realised tt my girl wasn't by my side. My dh also couldn't find her..We were so worried and started to run around to look for her and shouting for her. Then an indian man, apparently know tt we were looking for our child, pointed to us at one direction..So we quickly ran towards tt direction and found my poor dd squatting before a gondola and her head facing down wards...she looked so scared then...Whenever I think abt it I would feel like crying

Gosh...this thread becomes a \"horrifying experience\" thread...so moral of the story, please do not use your very young kids to \"chope\" seats or put them to sit with strangers while getting your food. Even a momentary loss is no joke... :nailbite:

Oh my! When I last travelled overseas I had my youngest on a backpack leash. It looked pretty cute actually and the Europeans were all giving him big grins

Losing your kid in a strange country is especially scary.
