Hi, Im new here. Would like to check abt Aitong.

My hubby will b joining alumni before March 2018. My girl will begin P1 in 2020.
Both of us r workng and we stay in Bukit Merah area.
My hubby strongly recommends our girl to b enrolled in Aitong. I would like to check all possibilities on commuting from Bukit Merah to Aitong because this is oir main problem.

Relocation is a no-no because my parents are staying around Bukit Merah. We drive but cannot compromise on how my girl can commute from school to home since we are working.
Understand there is Million Transport as the schoolbus operator. They have quoted $400 and that is not even pick up from our block. They said have to pick up from somewhere 10min away from our home and pick up is at 6am.

While I am ok with enrolling ny girl in Aitong, I would like to know besides student care (because we both work till 6pm at bukit merah area), are there any alternatives to commuting, i.e. another school bus operator or carpool? Im worried she will be too tired from all the commuting esp wheb she starts extra lessons and cca.

Why enroll before March 2018? Membership fees is lifetime. May as well do it now in case they raise the fees.

That said, I would seriously suggest that you reconsider your options. Daily commuting is no joke if you can’t sustain it for 6 years.

Besides student care in school, there are other student care in Midview City and around in the HDB neighborhood. Unfortunately, almost every one of them closes at 7pm.

Hi I am a new member.

Just wondering if there are any parents intending to try for ATS under 2C.
What are your thoughts and what will your backup plans be if your child fails to enter 2C at ATS?

If you want to try for ATS under 2C, that means you have to live within 1km.
If you live within 1km of ATS, that means you don't really have many choices. For those living within 1km of ATS:
                - Some (i.e. those living north of ATS in AMK Ave 1) could have CHIJ SNGS as an option. Worth a consideration if you have a daughter, not useful if you have a boy. Furthermore, both would require luck at balloting in Phase 2C.
                - Others (i.e. those living souh or to the west of ATS in Shunfu / Bishan) may have CHS as an option. Again, worth a consideration if you have a son, useless if you have a daughter. Would also require balloting in Phase 2C.
                - Lastly, if you expand your options to 1-2km, popular schools in Bishan / AMK / Toa Payoh would also require you to ballot for those living 1-2km. The not-so-popular schools available in Phase 2C would also be available in Phase 2Cs.

Depending on the gender of your child, and the location that you are living in, there are schools in Bishan (only Guangyang), AMK and Toa Payoh that will still have vacancies in Phase 2Cs as backup.

Friends who tried ATS and didn't get in at Phase 2C, their back up schools at 2CS were Marymount Convent for girl and Townsville Pri for boy.

Thank you very much @floppy and @cherrygal. What’s the likelihood of success entering Marymount or Townsville at 2Cs?

Perhaps my heart will not be able to take the gamble and gut feeling tells me to go for alumni at KCP instead.

Marymount and Townsville for SC within 2km is bao jiak.

However, if you are eligible for Phase 2A at KCP, you should go for it and forget about ATS.

                        Hi

I have a query primarily to do with phrase 3 vacancies.
Does Ai Tong even have vacancies under phrase 3 for foreign student?
I am a Singapore citizen with 2 sons, my older Singaporean son ( Born in Sg) is in Primary 2 in Ai Tong.
My younger son ( next year P1) is a foreigner, Singapore citizenship still pending unfortunately and so cannot enrol under the first phrase 😞
