Hi all parents, is anyone be a PV in Chong Fu? May I know what is the chances to enrol the school if be a PV? as heard is no guarantee.
You're right. Even after you complete your PV hours, there's no guarantee you'll get a seat in Phase 2B. You might have to move within 1 km from the school if you want to increase your chance.
What if one of the parent is a former student? Will that increase the chances? -
Eileen1983:
Former student - Phase 2A(2)If one of the parents was a former student of the shortlisted school, the kid will fall under PHASE 2A(2)?
If to be a PV will this increase the chance.
PV - Phase 2B
They are in different phases. -
Eileen1983:
Yes, kid whose parent was a former student of the school will fall under phase 2A(2). That is already having priority over PVs, who will fall under (the later) phase 2B.If one of the parents was a former student of the shortlisted school, the kid will fall under PHASE 2A(2)?

Hi All,
I am staying next to the school, which happens to be a hot one.
Should I do PV? Or I will be in Phase 2B as I am staying so very near.
We are not very educated :slapshead: but want to give our child the best chance possible. So what skills (rather than qualifications and reading) is good to indicate on the form? -

Phase has nothing to do with how close you stay.Hi All,

Without being a PV (or a GRL), you will be in Phase 2C. -
What do they normally look for in selecting a PV? Photography and editing can boh?

Sure, I have seen one such father clocking his PV hours by being the professional photographer at school events.
Just apply at the school. If they need such services, they will take your offer. -

7 years ago, a friend offered his services to teach Maths and IT to the weaker students when he applied for PV, in the end the school tap on his photography skills instead and he ended up taking photos for school events. So we always joked that his hobby is seen more 'valuable' by the school then his core skills (he is an IT auditor) . Another mummy friend end up carrying band and chinese instruments and what nots, her core skills is in accounting. So sometimes I would think the school is looking more for helpers for events in the time slots they want instead of professional skills.AhLeeBaba:
