Understood that the 1MDB, GST, FT influx are some of the issues what Malaysian voted overwhelming for the opposition. Just wondering would this ever happen to Singapore since we have our own share of divisive issues. Not taking any stand in this issue but just listing issues that were hot discussion topics that potentially divided the nation.

            -Pending GST hike
            - Water price hike
            - Carpark, electricity, S&C increaser
            - Oxley Saga
            - Indian President election
            - Perennial Foreign \"Talent\" influx
            - NSF deaths
            - Teachers Parking
            - CHC saga
            - AHTC
            - PMET jobless
            - MRT breakdown

I was living in Malaysia when the implementation of GST took place in 2015.

It was done very haphazardly, very ill-prepared and very poorly communicated. The people weren't informed or told how the returns would be used, or how it would benefit them. It ultimately resulted in an increase of cost of living while salary remained stagnant. I'm not surprised it came back to haunt the ruling party.

I wonder how the victory would affect Singapore.

Mathatir jealous of Spore success? Put roadblocks for Msia/Spore cooperation? Halt the rail connection to Spore (might even be delays esp for the One Road One Belt) stamping our economic growth? Develop an underground connection fr Port Klang to Pahang to facilitate shorter shipment time, that’ll cut Spore out as entrepôt?

There’ll be in-fighting very soon I figure & hope those working here will not be affected. Owise chaos!
