Depends on the qualifications of your current tutor. It would be perfect if she is current school teacher or ex-MOE teacher. Been a PSLE marker / PSLE trainer / exam setter. (not neccessarily assessment book writers) If so, she would be qualified to prep your child for PSLE (but they come with a high price). If regular free-lance tutor, especially one with less than 5yr experience, she may be unsure of PSLE requirements. I understand your predicaments, time is running out for Pri 6s, 90 days to PSLE, no time to waste if not effective.i was looking for some advice ...i am in the dilemma that should i continue with current tutor which started 3 months ago or change to other group lesson.
my son this year PSLE, and he was with mind stretcher but stopped after complaining boring and does not help, we then switched to private tutor from Feb onwards and but he end up english mark drop during the recent SA1-not sure if we put too much expectation on the tutor.... does tutor come with their own study and teaching material? one thing i find is private tutor seems lack of resources compare to mind strecher or learning lab these kind of tution centre.
so should i change him back to tuition centre?
anyone can share with me some experience and opinion? thanks a lot -

As there are many components in English, you may want to analyze which areas need improvement. Drawing from my experience with my DS who took PSLE last week, from now till PSLE is critical to consolidate knowledge and to clarify doubts.i was looking for some advice ...i am in the dilemma that should i continue with current tutor which started 3 months ago or change to other group lesson.

If your child find mind strecher boring, may not help to resume the lessons. You do not have much time to change tutors. Suggest you stick with the current one.i was looking for some advice ...i am in the dilemma that should i continue with current tutor which started 3 months ago or change to other group lesson.

The key differences, beside resource availability will be the learning environment. Resources are very much dependent on the tutor and you should be able to request for this when choosing a tutor.
The learning environment, on the other hand, is very much dependent on the student. Some kids strive in a 1-1 setting because they feel more comfortable to ask questions and they require the individual attention to learn faster. The group setting will encourage competition and push kids to revise and learn more, \"so as not to lose out to his/her peers\". There is also interaction with other kids and they learn from that as well.
Depending on your child, you should consider this when deciding between a home tutor or group tuition at a centre. Personally, I am leaning towards group tuition because there tend to be less distractions and a more conducive learning environment. -
Adding on to Seannnnn, private tuition may be intensely boring cos it’s just child and teacher. DS ever have had private tuition and my younger one was unable to sit still during the lesson. He doesn’t have such problems in group settings and teachers have always commented he pays attention when in class (just not with private tutor).
